Hey Guys,
I did the same as luisderoux in terms of shifter knob and boot combo. I kept the ring piece silver though. Didn't use any tape or velcro to hold the boot down and everything seems to be working fine. I might add some later if I feel it needs it. Might even add some double sided tape like luisderoux mentioned to the silver ring to make it even more snug but it seems pretty snug already. we'll see how it goes! Anyway, it looks 10000x better and this is how it should have came from factory! Knob was bought on ebay (infinity M45 knob) and the boot as well.    Thanks to everyone in this thread. Cheers!
