They should... The idea is you fasten them to the shifter, and press the ball down to disengage the parking lock. However I'm not sure exactly how it fastens to the shifter, and still is able to slide?

No it wasn't too bad, just wish I had all my tools and a air compressor at home, took about an hour.

Thats cool

It looks so much better like that and it would look like a real 6SP if you change the knob.

Default One more thing....

I'd like to add one more thing to Option #1 that did that REALLY helped me with this mod.

At first the damned leather boot kept just sliding up and popping off. It was really annoying. I was thinking great, another DIY that leaves out steps or is much harder than told. But I was like, there has to be a way to do this, because others did it, but there also has to be a way to make this easier / better.

My first thought was some big rubber bands, but that didn't work.

My second thought was hot melt glue or some sort of quick set super glue, but then I thought that might be messy and might be "too" permanent, especially if all didn't go just right.

Then I thought about foamtape (which I have on rolls at work), and that ended up being the PERFECT fix. The tape provided hold to keep it in place, but it also allowed me to lift and tighten, or lift and loosen, then reapply. Basically the tape on the inside fabric holds, but does not permanently bond. It was great to get it fitting just the way I liked.

The other bonus is that if I ever need to undo this mod, the tape allows me to do it, or even redo it if necessary over time. Perfect.

I wrapped the tape fully around the shifter guide, and put an extra flat piece on the back side and the front side. Here's some pics. You can see the tape with the white liner left on prior to assembly.

Hope this helps others.

Cheers --- Bonzo
