Do any of the MOMO knobs fit our cars - has anyone used one? First auto in awhile and I forgot what a pain it is to find/switch shift knobs.

Yes, there is a chrome looking knob that fits.

Somatic, I just got my boot in today, and was installing it... I noticed when you go to downshift in M mode the plastic retainer ring on the shifter likes to get in that crevice of the faceplate and prevent you from pulling the shifter all the way back... Were you able to find a fix for this?

Only thing I can think of is remove it?

Or maybe trim some of the shifter knobs bezel of the base??

Edit: Just re-read the OP, so now we just use the Manual's baseplate instead of the Auto?? Hmmm....

Did he re-install the PRND plate or no?

i dont know what he did, but i just put a little tape over the lower portion , that way the boot wouldnt fall into it.

I'm gonna try leaving that plate off since it's covered anyways, and using the manual baseplate, the boot will be anchored, so it'll all be covered anyways. BRB.

well remember, the manual assembly cant just be forced on, cutting is required., and if you take the shift gate off, the boot has nothing to wedge on to

Update:

Ok, so I'm trying to get the manual cover to fit, and the boot is taken care of by the manual underpiece. But the underpiece won't fit over the whole shifter assembly, and I'm not too fond of cutting the whole shifter assembly apart, so I'm in the process of trying to modify the underpiece to accommodate the shifter assembly.

To be continued...

I don't know exactly what he cut to make it work since the pictures aren't very descriptive but I'm piecing it together as I go what I need to cut. Once it's all done, I'll take pics of the finished parts.

Also, lol I'm doing this without a dremmel. So yeah, birthday coming up soon, I know what I'm asking for. For those who are thinking about this, get a dremmel first, you will save a LOT of asspain.

Chris all I did was lay the 6sp assembly on the bare shifter and mark where it hit ground a little until it fit, sorry about the pics I was kind of in a hurry (note) if you do it my way make sure you cut the little nubby on the right it is in the pic above.
The best thing about my way is when you shift it is silky smooth.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to say here...

But no worry on the blurry pics that part was fine, just couldn't really tell what was/wasn't cut.

So far, I've had to trim down the front side of the shifter assembly almost clean off, cut a square section of the trim underpiece, and still have to trim more apparently.

This just goes to show the 7AT interior design team and the 6MT interior design team never once talked to eachother about making parts fit both = less parts to make = more $$ saved.

Hmmm... Wasn't really worried about the shifting moreso the fact that when I drive it in M mode and someone pulls up, they are unaware that it's an Auto.

Did you have a dremmel I'm guessing? I'm seriously considering just going and getting one tomorrow. This is really irritating having to use a mini hack saw.

A dremel will work good (I should have used mine it would have been neater)but no I used a cut off wheel from my work.
Just so you know you don't have to cut all the way through the shifter housing just need to cut a groove ,there is nothing electrical in the way.

They had a battery powered dremel kit for 80... I wants lol.

Ok, I'm trying to do more from the trim piece more than the housing, but they are not cooperating.

On the 6sp assembly if you unscrew the bottom black plastic piece that's the piece that needs to fit once that piece fits you should be able to screw the 6sp assembly back together and fit it on the console.
