I know the DIY says 1/4 watt does it matter if I use a 5 watt? I know the difference is how many watts it can take before burning up

Technically I think that's right ... I think the 4.7 Ohms fools the system, and like you say the watts only comes into play if the system says to deploy an airbag ...
