How does a mechanic screw up a brake line install? What part got screwed up? Here, these pictures might help DIY: Akebono BBK Installation on 03-07 G/Z - MY350Z.COM Forums

How did they mess it up? Is it leaking?

My guess is they didn't seat the hard line properly in the SS line before tightening it down.

That was the problem I had when I did my clutch line install. But I don't see why you would need instructions for that. I'm assuming it was something more drastic.

It could be that they ordered the wrong lines … or the wrong lines were shipped. The brake line configuration was changed for the late model '12s and 2013s. I was initially shipped the wrong lines when I switched over to the SS versions.

yep, there was a chap over here in Australia who had the new brake line configuration on his later model 370z.

my clutch line install got messy too. the stupid union nut on the hard line had corrosion right at the tip/base of the threads. No amount of penetrating oil would get in and with the limited space, a flare wrench could not budge it. i managed to finangle a regular ring spanner on there and that didnt help either.
In the end i hacksawed off the offending section and hammered a 6pt socket on it, rattled it off.

The hardline will be eventually replaced but i ended up creating my own solution to get the car back on the road. It involves -4AN braided hose

Thanks to all for replying. The front lines are making contact with the suspension components. The line is intact, but the rubber material that protects the lines broke a bit. I inspected the lines, wheels, surroundings and no leaking was found and the line is still in good shape. I left the car today and should get it by tomorrow. I requested the instruction to at least throw them a bone with pics and instructions. Im also wondering how they messed up with something like this

Hmmm, i hope this is not the case. I ordered mine from Z1 and specified the MY when i ordered, but honestly do not remember seeing this information in the packaging, as all it said was 370z/g37 SS brake lines.

This! And not sure if they routed the lines correctly either. anyone here or know anyone with issues with Z1 lines? They are the non-premium version.

Have a look at this thread:

Are these the same lines you received?

Dealer finally managed to get this resolved. Put some rubber to isolate possible contact points. Never had any issues with other brand of SS brake lines in other cars before an d all seemed to fit quite well. Also, kind of dissapointed with Z1 when i wrote them twice for instructions and they never wrote back. Oh well, at least everything seems to be fine now.

Thanks to all for the replies and help
