it's really based on the suspension geometry and toe/camber setting. post a pict of wat your tire looks like just in case.

my G is the same way as my Z.

The wear you are noticing is totally normal.

Any "sporty" RWD car will exhibit similar wear tendencies-- it is just a function of the negative camber dialed in from the factory.

As far as safety issues-- just watch how your tires are wearing, and don't rely on the outside tread condition to be accurate across the entire tire.

Take a pic of what you're talking about.

Also, there's nothing wrong with getting an alignment just to make sure everything is dialed in correctly.

Uneven tire wear is normal on sports cars with negative camber, but what you're describing could be excessive.

You should be seeing something similar to the bottom middle, but not that extreme.

Inner tread block wear on the rear tires is 100% normal and expected. The stock setup has nearly 2 deg of negative rear camber. With daily driving, the inner tread blocks will wear more quickly. The negative camber is helpful for traction when exiting corners. You can have a shop dial out the negative rear camber if you're just toodling around town most of the time.

I just found out today that my rear tires are worn down to 3/16 after only 16k miles. The wear is all on the outside of the rear tires, both sides. Guy said I should have checked alignment more often, was he right? Also I ran over some nails too, D'oh! Looks like I need to replace my tires, anything I should know?

It's normal, the negative camber isn't too bad. If you buy your tires at discounttire, you can bring it in every few months for free lateral rotations on the backs to get the most out of them.

Won't do anything for camber wear

Sounds like a lot of you guys need to go hit some corners and give the car some throttle on the way out of those corners. That's the best way to achieve even tire wear on a Z

Why would you upgrade suspension and downgrade tires?
