Default Coilover Adjustments for height and Pre-tension

So I have a set of KW's and SPC camber kit sitting in my garage waiting to be installed this Saturday by a shop.

Question is by looking at what I got in the box compared to pics on these forums on the V3 is that they are different. No replacement coils for the rear included. Also, how do you adjust the ride height? I had coilovers on my Subie before and this required unbolting the bottom bolt of the strut/shock and turning the body. Tidious, but only way to do it right. You could add more pre-tension on the coils by moving the collars upwards, but that would make the spring stiffer as well as drop height.

By looking at the KW's, you will be using the oem spring coils and adjust height by adjusting the collar up or down? I tried this and it doesnt seem to preload any more tension on the yellow springs..

This has been bothering me ever since I got em to try and figure them out. Also disappointed there is no turn handle for front Struts up top or easier way to adjust dampner at the bottoms..

I'll take some pics and post tomorrow. I only got 1 box in the mail and it only had the 2 struts and rear shocks with the coils..

Coils around the shocks don't look wide enough or stought enought to replace the oem ones..

Im contacting INTENSEPOWER now...

I just got off the phone with IntensePower and they are really helpful and ready to ship out today correct part (if I needed it) with prepaid shipping to me and return shipping to send back what I have but,.......

But they got a message from KW stating that the 200sx part is also the same as the 370z/G37 and also no replacement coils for the rear are included...so part number KW 35285007 (370z/G35) is same as 35285003 (what I got for the 200sx/s14)

Im waiting on the email that KW sent Intensepower to verify this...In the meantime, can anyone already with their KW V3's verify this? Did you get the same part number?

Edit: So I called KW to verify and they are cool too...they said I did get wrong part number as 35286003 is for G37 which is same as 370z..
Whoever packed and shipped sent out 35285003 which is for 240z... Yeah confusing...and hope this gets straightened out...

The rears shocks have to be separate from the coils, nissan designed it this way.

If you want to have the coils and shocks combined you have to reinforce the frame of the car to take the additional stress.

Return those and get the better version of the kw.

yup those are def the wrong coilovers for the 370z...and no way the S14 uses the same part# as the 370z as the rear coils are seperate from the strut (as azn already mentioned). Also dissapointing that KW says they are using the same part for 370z/G37/G35, if I read that right, as these cars should all have different spring rates and dampening due to their weight and distribution.

Called Intensepower early this morning at 6am Hawaii time to hopefully get this resolved and shipped out as I know that mainland is 3hr ahead West coast.

Anyways,..we got the part number figured out and fact that I got the wrong part,..called them back a few hrs ago for and update and they admitted fault. They will have to resolve in a meeting or something if they can bite the bullet to pay to ship out next day air or in some manner that I get it in my hands by Friday afternoon. I hardly doubt this now as I know that it needed to get out today as 2 day air for mainland is 3 days to Hawaii. I had to change my work schedule for a Saturday install and alignment/friend's shop was booked all last week. So I have my spot for Sat morn,...just hope I dont lose it..

Again I can install the rear myself, but fronts I would have to uninstall and bring to shop anyways to get tophats off. Also, dont have much time on weekends now due to work and wife to tend to...you know how that is,...But there is nothing more I rather do but wrench on my car...bad luck on this order I guess....

Ok,..yeah this sucks,..I had to cancel my appt for this Saturday, my work schedule again and made another appt for next Sat.

I didnt get any phone call or update yesterday to see if they would send out my correct part for my scheduled appt that I did tell them about. They needed to get approval as shipping to Hawaii is very expensive.

It was their fault though and should have done so for customer appreciation, but $400-$500 is too much to cover for Overnight or 2nd Day air.. Just a little dissappointed that no one got back to me yesterday or followed up as promised to let me know the haps..

Anyways,. will see how this pans out as it is a great price and shipping was quick the 1st time, just that I got the wrong part was the error,..they should've billed/docked the employee's paycheck to send it out to me, but that's my opinion..

ok,..done venting..

That really sucks. I think they're one of the bigger vendors. Hopefully they do the right thing. I bought a couple things from several vendors here and made me think about the vendors I buy from, to me better service is more important than price. Some vendors I wil never buy from again.
