I bought mine used, but note that Concept Z also price matches. They'll match the Z1 price and provide much better customer service

LOL ... well, that is that plan anyway. They are still in the box though

Install scheduled for later this year. I purchased them because they were a local sale at great price. I chose them because of Hotrodz's experience

Is it okay to install spl front and rear camber arms without coilovers? I returned my tien coilovers n got the front/rear spl. I am just gonna save up for kw3 or fortune auto coilovers

if you’re on stock suspension there’s no NEED for them

You are better off installing arms and coils together so you can set the height, then alignment all at once.

Why pay for two alignments?

But i mean theres no reason they wont “work”. Adjustability is adjustability

Yeah, it's ok. But you will be paying for 2 alignments.

hey guys,
So I ordered KW3 and I have spl front/rear camber arms. For kw3 do I need the spl mid link? Also do I need the spl eccentric lockout kit? Tried searching didnt find anything.

KW v3 are OEM type (spring divorced from coilover)

However, because they use a PROGRESSIVE spring, you get a whacky, varied diameter spring in the rear like this:

For OEM type, coilover owners should get the SPL mid-link, which looks like THIS:

The SPL mid-link requires 65mm ID springs (roughly 2.5 inches)

This leads me to believe the progressive spring will NOT work with the SPL mid link.

My recommendation would be to CALL SPL and see what they recommend. They've always been super helpful.

or you can cancel the order on the stupid KW's and get fortunes or something that have more adjustment range and use linear springs

The SPL mid links only work with straight springs of 2.5", 65mm springs. They won't work with a oem or taper springs.

right

the SPL midlink/toe arm normally is what takes over toe adjustment.
If he can't use that i think he's stuck with the stock eccentric bolt

the traction arm does stuff too but adjustment is impacted without the adjustable arm there

another reason why KW should not be preferred

So I called SPL and they said I will have to change the springs to be able to use the midlink. I guess i will have to purchase some Swifts. So guys do i still need the eccentric lockout kit?

if you are going to full adjustable arms, then YES, you need the lock out kit

the stock eccentric bolts are a point of failure - they slip over time and wear. As you are adjusting camber/toe/caster through the arms, you no longer need that adjustment point, hence the "lock out" of those bolts

I am curious how SPL is changing the springs. Fitment wise, it's easy - throw away the progressive springs, swap in some 65mm ID swifts. But are those now linear? won't that throw off the valving? I mean, SPL knows more than me, i trust their setup. Just wondering what they're doing here

They sell KW so presumably they will know how to make stuff work with their own parts

EOD it won't be anything you can notice, i suppose

EDIT:
Don't stop the lockout kit and mid-link
Get the traction arm too

Your alignment tech will thank you. All 3 arms work in conjunction and affect alignment.

Whatever spring you get, buy some Swift thrust washer/thrust sheets:
http://swiftsprings.wpengine.com/products/misc/

Save yourself from squeaking and popping noises

SPL can order these for you

it will take about 40 days for my kw v3s to arrive. So in that time I will order traction arms, new springs (will talk to spl again and confirm if linear springs will fck with the coil system) and i order this washers. Thanks alot guys.

I realize that this is an older thread ! But for anyone looking for/shopping Z1 now offers FUCA's that are not only fully-forged pieces that CAN BE ADJUSTED ON THE CAR !! , they are also half the price of SPL's offering. Save yourself some $$ and get a forged fuca at half the cost (they don't come with the little titanium bits) which if you ask me aren't worth 500 extra bucks lol
