Question EDFC Active Pro installation questions

1) Power supplie power input for 2 rear motors:
- Can I take power from trunk illumination line?
- If not where did you connect yours?

EDFC manual state that power supplies for the 2 motors needs MAX 3.5A it's should be about 40 Watt

2) Speed signal:
- How do I connect that? OBDII terminal?
- Is it possible to feed speed signal from Carbon Signal GTR gauges?

No info on that in the EDFC manual. Controller have single wire for signal input.

1) Not sure if you want to use that. I think that circuit only has power when the hatch is open. The Field service manual says it that circuit is powered through the BCM. I think an Accessory power circuit would be more appropriate.

2) No idea what wiring/connector did it give you for the speed input signal. The CS GTR gauges is just am obii reader, it doesn't output any signal. The odbii connector is under your steering wheel.

Thanks for reply, i already gave up hopes that some one is interested in this.

By any chance do you know which of the pins on OBDII terminal is used for speed signal?

The is no analog speed signal at the OBD connector under the steering (or any other OBD connector on the car). The data is sent in digital form over the network.

If I understood the description at the manufacturer's site, you tap into one of the ECM wires that fires one of the coils.

speed sense on the 2016 370z is a yellow wire at the radio plug.
Pin 18 on a 20-pin plug or pin 22 on a 32-pin plug

Thanks all.

There is no way i would figure out that speed sense wire is on the radio terminal i still wonder what is it doing there.
I would probably continue disassembling whole car looking for it

some radios have a feature where it'll increase volume to compensate for road noise (couldn't tell you if the 370 actually has that because I only had the stock radio in for two days)

The Bose system in my '09 had speed-sensitive volume.

Z Runner, where did you place your front driver? Not seeing much for EDFC Active Pro Install. Wiring also has been a task for tapping into. Sugggestions?
