Just heard from my shop it backed out not broken. They have it back together to get in in the shop. Just got done talking with Chuck from Z1 he told me that they have revised the locktite they are using and the torgue spec.
I will have my shop do both sides with the newly suggested locktight and torque spec.

New locktite they suggets is 271 new torque spec is 57ft lbs.

Well, you've got someone over there telling people nothing is wrong with these FUCA.Some guy told me the ones I purchased a month or so ago are fine, obviously, this is incorrect.

I sure hope Z1 going to help pay to un-install, un-assemble then, re-assemble and reinstall these fuca's

Hey Leon,

Here is the follow up email with the information about the FUCA end we spoke about on the phone.

Bullet Points:

Use 271 Red High Strength Loctite
Torque to 57 ft/lbs

We are sending out replacement bolts and Loctite today with instructions for install. You will not have to redo the alignment if they just reinstall the upper joint.

Please let me know if I can help with anything else.

Thank You,

Here is a video that a forum member from myG37.com has put up on youtube about the problem these ball joints/heim joints are having.

Did he say anything about helping pay the cost of these repairs?

I emailed Spencer asking about this. I'm waiting for a reply.

All I got from Chuck on the phone call was that he would look in to it.
I highly dout they will step up and help us defer the costs of repairing the obviously defective parts. But hope they do the right thing!
I have towing and shop time here, just luck I wasn't hurt or more damage to my Car.

For the time being I am going to remove my z1 fuca and replace with oem as my passenger side is making a **** ton of noise as of today and hearing the ball joint backing out is worrying. Noise has been there but only so slightly after my last track day.

hopefuly Z1 can help me defer some of the cost from the tow to the shop and the shop cost having to take care of the issue.

Here's an email I just got from Spencer @ Z1...This was in reply to my asking when the replacement parts were coming & if they plan to reimburse customers for the additional labor costs of having the repairs done.

since I've not had to be towed ((fingers crossed) I didn't ask about that.

Carey,

I believe they were having these kits completed and set to ship today, they should start moving either today or tomorrow from our local facility. Hopefully they will be to you within a couple days from that point.

The kit will include everything for your shop to do the repairs as outlined in the attached instructional TSB I just received. No change to the alignment be necessary and the install really should not take longer than a half hour or so, but yes it is my intent to follow up with you to get square.

Regards,
Spencer

Going to pick up car, shop said that they have never seen this before. Untreaded its self, threads are not stripped, no parts broken. charging me 28.99 for the threadlocker alone! I hope Z1 plans on reembursing me as I havent gotten the bills for towing or labor yet.
This is NOT RIGHT!!!!
When I was having noise coming from front end they said to check the lubrication and torque setting for the bushings NEVER said anything about the heim joint.

I was about to place an order for the FUCA glad I found this thread before i made my purchase. Maybe a recall should be placed for their FUCA if this is happening

Just picked up my Z from the shop everything seems tight and quiet, but then it did the first time they were installed.
The thread locker Z1 calls for cost me $28.99 alone, shop had to order it special and of course one hour labor for both sides. Without counting towing its getting expensive using Z1's FUCA.
So much for them being a bargain!

This has happen to me twice thankfully going a very low speed, I'm pissed i feel their solutions are not adequate. Im having to go back and put time and money and have my car out of commission for a few days to fix their problem.
