Apple CarPlay touch screen integration

Has anyone tried connecting a google chromecast usb to a RCA plugged into aux? Does it mirror your phone screen?

This would be a bit of work because you have to power the chromecast via USB and then do an HDMI to RCA adapter for video/audio (if that even works). Also, chromecast is just starting to support full mirroring on a few devices, a few 3rd party apps do it but they are known to be pretty laggy still.

No, it puts up the chromecast home screen on the monitor ( mine is an aftermarket head unit). I have an iPhone and the hdmi connector does mirror my screen, but some apps won't show up like hbo go, but hbo go works with chromecast.
