but thats wht im gonna work on a bracket for the license plate. It seems to be the best area to void noise and central to both exhausts.

i actually looking into a system with multiple wireless mics that feeds into a single source to feed into go pro.

this is so i can get the side exit exhausts too, but need a way to avoid wind noise.
I agree FWIW, that license plate spot would be best. Another thing to try is to simply aim the microphone upwards, and stick it to the fog light spot. That may work, too.

Actually, better yet...how are you feeding power to your GoPro in the car?
yep, that's wat i saw a few months ago.

i have a dual usb power adapter in the center console which it routed under the console, behind the passenger seat, to the gopro headrest mount. i also have an external stereo mic feeding into it from around the rear glovebox area. it's quite good.

cant post picts because the upload feature at this site is broken right now. and thanks to some arse last year, i deleted all my albums.

16' male-to-female audio cable
Fat Gecko "Mini" camera mount (with suction cup)
GoPro's USB-to-Female audio cable

Here's my one (and only, so far) test video I quickly made today, in the miserable cold and wet weather.

Just curious about the GoPro Hero 3. At the higest resolution, what size would the file be for about 10 minutes of recording? I just tried an experiment with my Motorola RazR Maxx HD phone in the 1080HD+ mode. I have the windshield mount for navigation, and the camera is pointed directly out the window. I did about a 10 minute video, and the file size was a little over 1GB. So, I figure with 20GB left in my internal SD card, I could get about 200 minutes of recording. When I played the recording back on our HD TV, the sound and picture were pretty stellar. I really don't want (or need) a GoPro (although they are amazing), I just may use my phone during this years ZdayZ "Dragon Quest".

Unknown off hand, I'd have to muck with it. But the Black does 4K resolution at 15 FPS, so it's probably be quite large. It also does 1080p at 60 FPS.

The GoPro and your phone are very, very different tools, though. Only one will survive being chucked like a football in its protective case . Or, like in my case over 3 years ago, being rammed into a metal safety barrier and still functioning just fine.

My GoPro was $350 and included a 32g memory card, along with a free spare battery.

That is the big thing for me, my GoPro is used for many things.
Many of which my phone could not survive, being thrown around, water, mounting on the outside of the car.
