Hardware:

GoPro Hero 3 Black
Audio-Technica PRO24-CM Microphone
16' male-to-female audio cable
Fat Gecko "Mini" camera mount (with suction cup)
GoPro's USB-to-Female audio cable

Here's my one (and only, so far) test video I quickly made today, in the miserable cold and wet weather.

Just curious about the GoPro Hero 3. At the higest resolution, what size would the file be for about 10 minutes of recording? I just tried an experiment with my Motorola RazR Maxx HD phone in the 1080HD+ mode. I have the windshield mount for navigation, and the camera is pointed directly out the window. I did about a 10 minute video, and the file size was a little over 1GB. So, I figure with 20GB left in my internal SD card, I could get about 200 minutes of recording. When I played the recording back on our HD TV, the sound and picture were pretty stellar. I really don't want (or need) a GoPro (although they are amazing), I just may use my phone during this years ZdayZ "Dragon Quest".

Unknown off hand, I'd have to muck with it. But the Black does 4K resolution at 15 FPS, so it's probably be quite large. It also does 1080p at 60 FPS.

The GoPro and your phone are very, very different tools, though. Only one will survive being chucked like a football in its protective case . Or, like in my case over 3 years ago, being rammed into a metal safety barrier and still functioning just fine.

That is the big thing for me, my GoPro is used for many things.
Many of which my phone could not survive, being thrown around, water, mounting on the outside of the car.
