Volume Knob Issue (09 Bose Model)

unplug the steering control and see if it still does that.

while you have everything out, before you turn the car back onto ACC, make sure to connect the SRS indicator for the passenger seat so that you dont get an error light.

Where is the steering control plug? Behind the headunit I assume?

Yes it is behind the head unit, although not sure how that will help the volume knob on the head unit. Bose systems break easily, whether it is the amp, speakers, head unit, or display.
