Default Decisions on Kenwood HU - volume knob or buttons?

So, Im looking in the 600-800 range for a Kenwood dd HU.

They all seem to have pretty much the same features. I know i want nav, bt, steering wheel controls, and a back-up camera.

there are really two main differences i have noticed, the 6.95" screen with volume buttons and the 6.1" with a volume knob.

For those with Kenwood HU, why did you choose the one you have and do you have any regrets? Im really torn between the knob with the smaller screen and the buttons with the larger.

I have two cars with the Kenwood HU. One has the volume knob and since it's in the Z, it also has a volume control in the steering wheel. The other unit has the larger screen and no volume knob, but it doesn't have any radio control in the steering wheel so you have to use the buttons to control volume.

I think I should swap the units between the cars, but I'm too lazy.

Back to your question...as long as you can adjust your volume via your steering wheel controls, the larger screen would work great. If you don't like using your streering wheel controls or don't have any, I would definitely go with the HU with the volume knob.

My $0.02

yah, get a HU that supports steering wheel controls and use that. ive rarely used the volume control on my HU. only time was when i was working on something from the passenger seat.

I also say with steering wheel controls you probably will rarely use the volume on the unit. However if I had the choice it would be a knob.
