There are a lot of threads asking exactly what you are asking, search for new speakers, speaker upgrade, upgrade system, new audio system, stock system junk, and so on.

Lots of threads on this.
thanks, yeah I am doing some searching at the moment. Could you just clear one thing up for me? Instead of getting a new head unit, is it not possible to get an amp to give the speakers the power they need (and also connect the same amp to the subwoofer)?
