You do not need to update it. Just do a manual setup thats all

Guys,
thanks for the suggestions and recommendations. I originally set the control manually, but as I've stated above the controls just move to the next available station.

I'll give it another try when I have time to mess with it. If it doesn't work, I'll try get a USB TTL cable, update the controller and try it again.

Thanks,
Lance

You really dont need the USB TTL cable.

I have a writeup on how to get all buttons working here:

Get the Axxess ASWC working - All buttons

You need access to the unit so you can press the reset button plus watch and monitor the red LED. Read the directions 3 times before doing anything.

I finally got this to work!! it was so easy... Every time i had tried i did not do the manual programming for the HU, only did the Car detection piece and tried the auto for the HU programming.

Last night did both manual programming and it was very easy to get working.

That's good to know. You've inspired to pull my dash apart to program it now...now what on earth did I do with those directions?

So just to be clear: Is it Grey/Pink to Blue and Grey/Blue to Pink. Or is it like the manual says: Grey/Pink to Pink and Grey/Blue to Blue. Please clear my cluttered brain?

I had kinda given up but then I ordered another metra unit for my wife's car and thought of giving it a shot ... had no luck since I did not follow the steps for manual programming on the HU detection, was about to give up after 5-7 tries of unsuccessful programming and it BAM it worked!!, so took the old module and programmed it in <2 minutes!!

Just be patient and make sure you do the manual programming as per the steps...

good luck!!
