I currently have a Stereo Integrity BM Mark 4 Sub. The previous model, the Mark 3, and the Mark 4 are widely considered to be one of the best SQ subwoofers you can get your hands on. They are both shallow mounts.
Technology in the shallow mount arena has grown by leaps and bounds in recent years, and many of the current offerings are outstanding performers. On the other hand, if you are planning on running in the SPL lanes at your local stereo competition, I would stick with a traditional subwoofer.
That being said, I seriously doubt that anyone could discern between a shallow mount, and traditional mount subwoofer in a blind hearing test, all other factors being the same.
I have heard the type R in more than one vehicle, and it is also a great sounding Sub.

Oh yeah, BM subs are killer!! I would of gotten one but I didn't want to wait in line and hope I could get one. your right with the blind test. But then, it also depends on the sound and type of music you are looking for.

I think me box is around .8 cu ft. Minus the sub space. What I did was measure a box for .8 cu ft. Then I filled it with packing peanuts. I then put the peanuts in a bag then used that to measure said space. In my case, I shoved it into the corner of my trunk.

2 10's are going to give you more surface area which in term going to be louder. I just installed 2 JL w3 10's in a Z a few weeks back and it's LOUD. Pushing a clean 520 watts per sub to them.

Default 10" or 12" Subs

Anyone ever install a kicker CVX 12 in a 370? I have one and am thinking about using it.....it is 6.5" deep so I am trying to figure how much box space to provide. I want to try and get away with the minimum as I don't want a traditional box like Zenclosures....

I was thinking a smaller profile similar to RBFastbacks....

All subs, as folks have stated, provide different types of sound. The smaller the diameter, the tighter and cleaner the bass will be. However as the diameter increases, the depth of bass increases. So 12s will be slightly more 'sloppy' than 10s but will hit deeper.

Multiple speakers will give you even more boom, but so will a well placed and sized port. I went with a 10" pioneer competition sub with 1.1 cu.ft. and 3"x6" aeroport. The dimensions, air space and enclosure size will do more to produce better sound out of any speaker than adding power or size ever will.

If you have your box already, choose speakers that meet the dimensions of the box
If you have your speakers already, choose a box that matches the specs of the speaker

If you already have both, you may need to modify the box to obtain the best sound.

I actually have a kicker CompVR 12" (cvr12) an love it in other cars but it's just too much for the z and the size box it requires I just think it takes up way to much room an u need a custom box so it could fit.

that TW3 is perfect I think, plenty of bass and I have plenty more I can turn the gains up without maxing it out.

only down side it it's not ported, gonna look into if I can port it?
best part is how compact an the best part is it hardly weighs anything

Yes....I have a kicker CVX as I stated in a ported enclosure similar to the one above....It was powered by a 800 rms amp in my Honda Civic.....this setup for the Z will be way to much......plus I like the tight sound and sealed response of a 10. I am just trying to get buy with possibly using the box I have.
