Yeah it "Softens" the whole car up, makes the shadows less harsh. Try shooting about 30 minutes before sunset, do not use FLASH, set flash off set on tripod and watch some of those magic shots, expose for the car, instead of the background ambient lighting, and you will get killer shots, however if you want amazing shots use strobes + ambient hehe im getting a head of myself, Ill just come photograph it with my profoto's
