That is going to depend entirely on how you drive...

Some people get <10K on the stock tires; some people get >20K on the stock tires. It just depends on the driver.

But hey, if it's not within your budget or drive style then I guess that makes sense. S-04's will do the job.

Sent from my Note 3
Yeah, tread life could make it an issue...it's possible that could offset the price difference but I gotta believe that driving habits would play a role in that. If you're not pushing the tires hard, I'm not sure that the tread life difference is there. I do believe that given my driving needs in daily driving and my driving skill, the performance difference is likely to be minimized and not worth the cost difference. I'm guessing. Maybe I'd be enjoying the PSS more, but in 1100 miles with the S-04s, I can't say I've felt a difference in handling compared to the 15,000 miles I spent with the OEM RE050As.

Objectively speaking, PSS does NOT outperform S04 by 30 percent. PSS will not out grip nor out brake S04 by a 30 percent margin, not even close.

PSS is clearly not what OP asked for in his original post.

Conti DW fits best if noise is a requirement. S04 is a great chiice for the current sale price, but I worry how loud s04 may get when it's worn down...don't the Bridgestones summer tires get pretty noisy when they are worn?

The only thing stopping me on the pss is sidewall design (appearance). Its got a roundish design similar to the DW which I don't care for. Price is not my issue on the pss.

I like how light they are vs s04. But going by weight, DW is lighter.

yah, my advans have like 6k miles on them and like 3/32 left. lol
make sure you go with 285/35/19 on the S04's. the 275/35/19's are narrow for some reason.

sure, 285/35/19 is fine on both the sport 19's and nismo 19's.

(maybe for the vip sedan crowd? )

so i recommend anyone getting the S04's to get the nismo size rear which is 285/35/19. they look real nice, grip nice, and just an overall very good tire.
Does this also apply for the front tires? Im also thinking of going with the S04s, should i go wider up front or is it just a matter of taste? I have the 19" SP RAYS... Oh, and sorry for the thread jack

265 up front will work. I have them on my Nismo!

I would recommend the 265s up front as well, reduced under steer (from lowering) feels very responsive, that and I'm on new tires. Haha

Thank you hotrodz and xpnsd-it!

I didnt know 265 would be an option, i was thinking more of 255's(only going 1 size up). Ill check this size out then.

FYI, dont know if it matters, but im not lowered and dont plan to lower my Z, just in case.

Also, does anyone have any pics of a sport package Z with 265 tires up front and 285 on the rears? Even better if its not lowered

Sorry for my laziness guys searched and found a few pics, but noticed that the tire size is 265/35. Not sure how i feel about the height of the 35s vs 40. Here in PR, the roads are pretty messed up, not sure if 265/35 is enough tire up front plus, im not planning on lowering my Z, so not sure how this size would look

What do you guys think? Am i better off going with 255/40 front and 285/35's in the rear?

The 265/35 is the same height as the stock 245/40, 26.3". If you're not lowering, the 255 might fill the fender better, it's taller.
There are pics in my profile of mine with 265/35 on the front. I am lowered and have 305/30's on the back though.
