Run them, just cause the masses don't agree don't mean that they wont look good. I'd check to see what they would look like in front of the wheel before I commit though.

You are either going to suceed or fail. Comes down to whether or not you wanna to pony up the scratch for us to see. I am trying to picture it. Sometimes times I think it may work, others, not really. But without going as far as installing them, you nor us will honestly never know.

I attended the NISMO Fiesta in San Antonio, TX to showcase the light work done by Oracle Lighting of Houston and to check out the wheels that others are sporting on their Z's. Mostly everyone sports the chrome, brushed chrome, black, or conbinations thereof on their Z's. There were a few that pushed the envelope as I am trying to do and I got a few pics of Z's sporting colored centers.
The first pic is as close in representation what I am thinking of doing. ![]() White Z's seem to pull of the colored centers well in my opinion. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by ZeeRedZ; 04-15-2013 at 10:35 AM. |

OP, just my opinion but do what you like.. It's your car and you may love it, who cares if no one else does. I rolled the dice when I bought Bullits old Strasse with the Candy Charizma Blue, and I loved them, so much that now I plan on getting my SP3 in the same blue.

I think car modders are like artist that paint or sculpture their vision. Our blank canvas are the car we buy with a vision of creating an image that reflect us. Believe me when I tell you, I will do what I think reflects me. I do appreciate the feedback received both positive and negative because that is what I asked for, personal opinion. In closing, here are a couple of pics of my other two rides. Yea they are not Z's but both put down over 675 rwhp. Hehe

If you want to tie in some red in the wheel a red pin stripe like the TE37 time attack (matte black with red pin stripe) would look better with your calipers powdercoated red.
Would you wear red pants with a red shirt? Might be overkill unless you worked at Target and even they sport khaki pants and a red shirt ![]()

ROF, did you see the pic of my Challenger? It seems to me that Americans buying and modding Japanese cars are trying to do the Japanese thing! I want to do the American thing on a Japanese car! That is why I posted the pics from the Nismo event in San Antonio where folks were actually going from the black, chrome, satin style to something outside the box. I am think about doing the red strip on a black center with a chrome barrel or just outlining the pockets in Z red, black center with chrome barrel. Might be too busy though. Yes got to PC the calipers. The next issue I will face is loweing the Z, putting on 20x9.5 F and 20x11 R lowered with BC racing coilovers. The offset and camber is what I need to address. |
