I have heard that before. The stock tires are stretched pretty. The stretched look gives less side wall when viewing from the side so you see more rim with less tire.
I like the look of more sidewall. It makes the wheel and tire setup look bigger. Plus it looks really good when looking at how wide the tire is from the back. Not to mention the performance benefits.
