I just left Firestone due to my rear tire having a slow air leak. The tire has two small roofing nails in the tire which all the tires were bought January of 2017 with about 20,000 miles on them. They said they can’t patch the tire because it is staggard and can’t be rotated so any warranty is voided regardless of tread life and I technically need to be buying tires every year.

Tell the S.O.B that you want your money back for the warranty since they won't honor it. Because of the staggered tires. This isn't the first time that I heard of a place that won't honor the warranty because of the staggered.Take the car someplace else to get the tire fixed.

How does a staggered layout prevent a tire from getting patched? Sounds like BS to me. I can understand not rotating front/rear, but patching has nothing to do with it unless the damage is near the shoulder/sidewall.

I think it's because they want you to rotate the tires to keep the warranty, and since they're staggered you can't.

I wish tires were not so expensive to be replaced

As others have said, I'd replace all 4 tires.
