House is almost there, but I've got a few things to do on the car too:

- Paint repair after minor hit-and-run in parking lot.
- Two front struts to replace the Nismos I just got - ride's too stiff for my tastes. (Selling near-new nismo shocks and springs if anyone's interested).
- camber and alignment.
- Uprev tune (maybe, before this, I'm hoping to sell my stillen G3 intakes and buy used AEMs to replace them).

THEN... Maybe powder coat wheels. ><

Well well well, aren't we close neighbors. I'm in the Talavera neighborhood on the corner of Cactus and Rainbow right next to the bar and restaurant. When did you move over here?

I would seriously pick up those Nismo's from you if it's a 4 corner set. I really just want the dampers though, no springs. Found a guy who's willing to sell to me, but haven't bought them yet. If I were you though, I would try to run a different set of springs and see if that helps. I heard the springs are what give it the kidney stiff ride. Swifts or Tanabe's would work well.

JENZ 05-03-2013 08:09 AM

I'm off blue diamond and Durango :)

JENZ 05-03-2013 09:33 AM

Going to go to Midnight Mayhem at LVMS tonight!!!

Infamous 05-03-2013 10:05 AM

We're all neighbors! Mountains edge and cimarron here. House will be finished in September-October.

SS_Firehawk 05-03-2013 10:24 AM

Pretty awesome seeing knowing some members live near by

Super Tanooki 05-03-2013 12:55 PM

Yeah I'm on Gomer/Ft. Apache. Right on the edge of town - mountain view from my balcony. It's pretty nice.

Yeah maybe, but to honest, I just want to sell them so I can roll the money back into getting the tune-up. I have stock rear struts already, I just need the fronts and I'll be good to go. I heard you can pick them up new for around $115, but I can't find them... :/

You might be able to find a member with a 2013 Z selling their dampers If you are still trying to find the right balance. I think the springs are still the same as the old ones, just slightly firmer dampening. I remember seeing a thread somewhere where someone was able to order them new. Outside of ordering them from a dealer, not sure where to get them. I don't see base suspension stuff very often in the classified section.

You can run your car down the quarter mile. Starts at 9pm. $15 to race or $5 to watch

I did it last year, I sucked haha. Did a 13.9 @ 100mph. Granted it was kinda warm that night and my car had a busted O2 sensor that may not have helped lol. I think I pulled a 2.1 or 2.2 60ft at my best?

Tazicon 05-03-2013 04:06 PM

It would be pretty late by the time we made it out there, plus I would just be watching. Maybe another time.

So, how did you do, Jenz? Was it fun?:driving:

Cars and coffee anyone? I just got off work and might stop by.

I suck so bad. My best run was 14.9. I stalled on two launches. I deep staged on one by accident. I can't stage or launch well. But hey practice makes perfect and this was my very first time, and instead of giving up when I screwed up two times in a row I kept going till I got it right. :ugh2:

Too early for me.

Infamous 05-04-2013 05:20 PM

I didn't see a single z there. /: I left around 0830. There was a beautiful 458 italia there though! The brakes in that thing O_O

I know that sometimes the G and Z club of Nevada attends. The Mini club also attends which is why we would go but my husband works Saturdays.

Dude, me and a group of Zs have been going there every weekend for like the past 2+ years. We get there around 8, we eat, and leave around 10.

Infamous 05-05-2013 03:30 PM

I know. I've had breakfast with you guys once. :D I parked near the minis, the last time you guys parked there. I was tired, so I left a little early and didn't really look for you guys. I would have, but just got off from my 12 hr shift.

You hang out with the G and Z club?...

Ah okay. Sounds heavy. If I were you I wouldn't have even attempted to go, so props to you. :)

Yeah all the time. Well, I hang out with a large group of very close friends, some of whom are among the early founding members of the G and Z club, yeah. But I don't really take part in the 'Club' stuff though - I just consider them good friends. The Club also hangs out every wednesday for dinner, usually at some fast food place. I don't usually go to that. Have you caught up with them before?

I've been to about three or four meets. Didn't find them all that friendly or the meets all that fun. Think we're sticking to the mini club for now.

My first one, they waved me towards them as I meandered through the parking lot looking to find a spot. It took the burden off of trying to fit in from a social point of view. I haven't been able to hang out as much as I would like, but there is good camaraderie. I've gone to fast Lap with em and helped another move. There was an epic *** heavy bronze eagle I distinctly remember. It just screamed "Murica". Hard to find good people in Vegas, or who are willing to expand their circle.

Strange you guys say that, because I moved to Vegas from London in 2010 and have made some of the best friends I've ever had here - many of them initially from the Z group.

'Hawk - you helped move Ben's stuff. Super friendly guy. Everybody helps everybody. And its a group full of all types of people from different ethnic backgrounds. It should be hard NOT to fit in.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience Jen, sometimes the wednesday meet attracts a sort of 'outsider' forum crowd that I don't personally consider friends. Next time, look for the organizer - Token. Friendliest guy you'll ever meet. Also, I own a red Z with the plate 'Contra' - if you make it to any more meets be sure to say 'sup. Name's Mike, the group call me MJ. :)

I know token. Him and maybe two other are the only "friendly" ones. Everyone else just kind of considers us invisible. I gave it about four attempts I think. It just doesn't compare to the mini people. Friendliest group of people you ever met. Oh well. :ugh2:

I always deep staged when I dragged. Better RT's for me, never red lighted.

Haven't taken mine to the track though, not sure I'm going to ever.

Pretty cool that you guys have a meet up, or at least a fairly active regional thread. :icon17:

May be headed to Vegas in late August/September for the weekend.

A group of us will be meeting up to cruise to the big Fontana gathering in September. You guys should join.

JENZ 05-07-2013 12:34 AM

What's that? Not the Laguna Seca thing right?

SS_Firehawk 05-07-2013 08:17 AM

I am F@cking there. Send me info on what I need to do.

Super Tanooki 05-07-2013 12:51 PM

Sunday, September 8, 2013, Nissan Fontana Dealership (which is in Fontana, not Laguna ;-)). It's a big officially-organized annual meet. Tons of Zs and GT-Rs go, among other Nissans. Great place to do some R&D on parts because everyone's modified in some way. This year its happening in conjunction with a SpeedVentures track day at the Auto Club Speedway. I will be going to the meet at the dealership, I won't be doing the track day. My wife will come if she can get the day off, so we might go eat at a nice outdoor shopping area nearby and look around before cruising back to LV late afternoon.

The Vegas group usually meets early - around 5:30-6am, if I recall correctly, at South Point and cruise out from there. One stop for coffee on the way, and it's a nice chill drive.

Here's the event on FB.

JENZ 05-07-2013 01:13 PM

I'll mull it over with the husband. Sounds like a good excuse to make a short vacation....

Infamous 05-07-2013 06:22 PM

They arrived!
