Default Finally got dyno results and now I want more!!

Well, I got my Z dyno'd about a month ago and here is what I got on a Dynojet;

Z1 CAI, Berk HFC's and OEM Nismo CBE before tune;

285 hp/238 tq

After tune;

301 hp/ 251 tq.

The first thing that I noticed was that my N/A turbo lag was basically gone. I had to relearn how to drive the car! Definitely an improvement in hp and tq but, I was hoping for something more in the 320 hp range.
The tuner suggested long tube headers as, he claimed that one of my HFC's was restricting flow limiting him to 27 degrees of timing instead of the typical 30 and that that would open things up. He also suggested a better flowing/LOUDER CBE. I'm not really feeling louder as I'm getting too old for all of that. I have read that the LTH install can be challenging and may only net me 8-10 hp so, just looking to you guys on what I could do to get to get me to the 320+ hp range. I was thinking of E85 also.

Of course, big issue with the 370Z, it gets even worse if you have a magnetic drain plug.

I don't know about your Z but my car had this annoying delay ever since I bought it in 2017 between pushing the pedal and the car responding (particularly from a dead stop!). Some folks solve it with a sprint booster. After the tune it's very responsive!!

I started calling it my N/A turbo lag as that's what it felt like.

The Nismo exhaust can be just as restrictive as the OEM. As for the clogged HFCs (how old are they)

It's possible that HFCs could have deteriorated over time due to running them on a stock tune. Possibility of oil from the Breathers and PCV could have contaminated that bank more than the other.

Numbers are a bit low due to exhaust, if indeed you have an under performing HFC then yes he would not be able to add the necessary timing that they usually take. These 3 degrees would have had you closer to 310whp which is not bad when you take in that Nismo exhaust.

One thing you can do is replace resonators in that exhaust or the muffler section.

At the same time look into the HFC issue. Long tubes might introduce rasp on the Nismo exhaust.

Thank you for your response. The HFC's were on the car for ~1 year before I got it tuned and the car does burn a bit of oil. I don't have an issue with getting another CBE but, I don't want loud or rasp. It looks like I'm looking for a reasonably quiet "non-restrictive" exhaust to pair up with some LTH's.

Invidia Gemini Cat back is reasonably quiet and has a fantastic refined sound.
