ive never noticed the keyfob range reduction since I just push the doorhandle button anyway. But I would be interested in this product to eliminate the battery drain from leaving the dongle in.

I'll be tuning my car in the not-too-distant future so it'll be interesting to see if I experience this as well. I, pretty much, always use the door/trunk buttons and it sounds like there's mixed experience there.

If you keep the ecutek dongle plugged into the obd 2 port than you'll probably experience it

So far it seems to be normal but I'll see how it goes. Interestingly, when I got it set up I ran a DTC scan and was pretty freaked out that there were 11 codes. I looked up several and they were for ABS voltage issues and some other stuff. I cleared all the codes this morning and scanned again at lunch and, so far, nothing has returned. Hopefully, they're all old!

I received and installed the adapter. Works perfect! I wasn't able to get pics of it installed but I do have a couple pics of the cable and plugs. Here are the steps for installation:

1) Remove 2 phillip's screws on existing obd 2 port bracket under dash and pull bracket and cable down below dash.

2) The obd plug easily unsnaps from the bracket with a small screwdriver. Remove the bracket.

3) Snap the plug marked (new obd 2 port) shown in the attached pic into the bracket. It snaps in just like OEM.

4) The plug marked (to OEM harness) shown in the attached pic plugs into the OEM obd cable port

5) Plug your Ecutek dongle into the port marked (switched) as shown in the attached pic.

6) Tuck cabling up under dash and re-install bracket.

You now have an unswitched obd port just like OEM installed in the OEM bracket and an Ecutek dongle plugged in full time that only functions with the ignition in the ON position.

I tested it from multiple distances and it worked perfect everytime.

Thank you Eugene and Frank

I'm glad you liked it and that it fixed your problem.
On a different note, it was kind of weird (and really cool!!!) to read a review on one of my products, but I sure enjoyed it Thanks!

It works beautifully. My car is in a large warehouse. I walked outside and down the road a ways and it still worked perfectly.

I tagged both yourself and Eugene on IG also

I purchased a BT dongle and harness from Eugene last week.

The interesting thing is I am having absolutely zero impact to the fob range when I leave the BT dongle plugged directly into the OBDII port without the harness extension. Fob range is well over 150 feet.

Your cars a freak When I had the dongle plugged in, the fob wouldn't hardly ever work if I had the fob in my pocket
