You can switch maps, log, adjust traction control and adjust throttle sensitivity with it, all (obviously) from your phone. No cord or laptop needed. IMO, it's overpriced by about $200.

The GT-R version has far more features and it's probably worth it on that platform. But if you like to tinker, it may be a must-have.

I was wondering which of the tuning parameters the end user would have. Wasn't counting on any, let alone anything I'd actually consider changing up from time-to-time.

There is definitely cool stuff for people who do go to the track and/or are boosted, though.

But yeah, I do feel like they should've setup a pricing model that applies a discount for current license holders.

I'd probably mess with the throttle mapping and traction control. I'd like to mess with the throttle slope if possible but it's probably just a sliding control and not that sophisticated.

The traction control works very well. I can literally one hand it coming hot out of a corner slightly sideways and have everything under perfect control. The TC allows for progressive grip so it doesn't slam you into a barrier by gripping suddenly with some counter steering dialed in. But it'd be fun to play with slip percentage a bit and see if there's a more optimal setting for getting better forward drive. I'm sure suspension and wheel/tire package will have an effect necessitating different TC settings.

In case there's a quicker response here:

Anyone know what the fuel pump feature does? Took a quick glance at it while the car (which I'm far away from atm), and it was just an on/off toggle of sorts.

You can use it to turn the fuel pump on and off. Say you're working on the fuel system and don't want gas everywhere. You can turn the pump off while the car is running and the car will die once it runs out of fuel. Also good for troubleshooting fuel pump issues.
