Default Track day with RE-11s at wear bars?

I was changing to my track pads today for next weekends track event and noticed my rear RE-11s are at the wear bars but still have decent tread along the outside edge of the tire. The fronts are fine. I'm hoping this won't be an issue. Thoughts?

I don't know if you can do a side to side swap on RE-11s, if you can, do it. If not, run them to the cords

The outside edges are likely what will wear first unless you have a crazy amount of static camber dialed in. Run them and make sure you check them after each session. Sounds like you'll be alright.

They are fine all the way to the cords. My last set only got better. Unfortunately you cannot flip them.

In my experience even directional tires are just as fast ran backwards, you only have to worry if you are driving in the rain that's when the directional really matters....
I run the hankook rs3 backwards a lot

They are not directional, they are asymmetrical. U can use them past the wear bars, but I notice that's when they usually lose a lot of grip

Good idea! Well I ran all weekend with them but skipped the last session because I just wore the rears down too far to have any grip with my 480ish WHP. I beat the holy hell out of the car this weekend and it held up like a champ. Boiled the power steering fluid despite having an external cooler on it with redline d6 ATF. Crazy fun times jockeying positions back and forth with a GT3

Assuming you have the requisite oil cooler and brake upgrades, drive on whatever tires you have now. Save your $ for track time.

An experienced driver with decent all season tires would run laps around a newb with slicks.

I'm actually doing auto-x and ruining my michelin PSSs. So i wanted to bounce some ideas around and kind of see whats available and cost effective vs. 1000 $ rears every season.
