Not exactly the same, but I tried my friend's 17s from his G35 on my Sport. They just barely didn't work on the rear. There's a step in the barrel of the wheel that contacts the caliper.

tyler20c 02-03-2011 03:42 PM

Hm sounds like it won't work. Well I'll find out for sure tonight. Going to the track.

I guess its sometimes good to have a base model... was able to fit 16" 300zx wheels that weighed insanely light on my rears last season...

had a hard time with the et streets on them though as they swayed like a mofo and made it very uneasy about going all out on them...

they weighed 14 pounds less a wheel/tire than my stock rears...

but to be real, no its not good to have base brakes, lol....

tranceformer 02-03-2011 10:00 PM

I've fitted a set of 18's on an akebono equipped G37... there was barely any clearance, nevermind 17's.

tyler20c 02-04-2011 12:30 AM

Drag radials didn't fit with the 17's. Ran a 13.5 at 104, which is about the same as last time. I got more grip this time but the DA was worse.

my buddies friends are going down there so I jumped in on it. about 25 cars are heading down, mostly vettes and an evo and one other 370 is what im told. Im kind of hesitant on going due to the extremely cold temps.

At least you're consistent. It doesn't look like next Thursday will be any better of a day either...I'm itching to go, too!

Awesome! Going for 11.99? I'd love to it. I haven't seen a single 370Z with nitrous on the forums, surprisingly.

I'm shooting for mid 12's cuz I'm only gonna run a 50 or 75 shot. But 11's would be awesome! I haven't seen another 370 with nitrous either, which actually makes me kinda nervous.

curious on results... just throw it on a dyno and have an uprev map for nitrous and you should be fine...

Even with a 125 you should be fine if you have a tune for it, i know the companies claim they control the fuel but I wouldn't trust that without actually monitoring it before I used it... good luck !!

With a 75 shot I would def go low 12s, 125 should drop a full bolt on 370 to 11.9-12.0 with good driving, or possibly better....

tyler20c 02-04-2011 04:22 PM

I'll keep you guys posted. BTW the kit is for an HR 350Z, so I'm hoping I wont have any problems making it fit.

You shouldn't have any problems...I'll be looking forward to your results. I'll probably come out that night since I'm putting my camber arms on in the rear and having it aligned tomorrow.

tyler20c 02-07-2011 11:27 AM

Nitrous kit shipped today. Ryan- we're going the 17th for sure, you should meet up with us before. You need to get in the Z club! we have a thread just for bradenton track nights. Should be a real good time..

I came to Florida to meet & race with Ray & Jason. Before coming, I got good vibes from them, & I was right.
Not only are they good guys, but also smart with their approach for improvements, and also talented drag racers.
As for me, everything that could go wrong did:( The wheels/tires I bought to possibly improve my times & stabilize my ride, did not fit!!! Also, 1st racing night (Wed.) I could NOT get traction & could not get into second gear:( Had this problem before, last summer at Lebanon valley. Was not a happy guy! What must they have thought of me:) Finally on Friday, after again missing 2nd. gear, I started to go through the 1/4 in more than one gear. 12.896 @ 107+ 12.910 @ 107+ then a 12.872. Not my best, but at least in the 12's:) One run I decided to go for it, 1.812 60' 5.309 330' then, YES, I shifted from second to fifth? :( The 60' foot was by far my best 60' ever. What might have been?:( but just wasn't in the cards.

Both Jason & Ray ran on STREET TIRES - AMAZING!
Ray's 12.8 was with stock gears, no tune, STOCK intakes, & test pipe back STOCK exhaust. OUTSTANDING!
Jasons unbelievable 12.2 was with only bolt-ons. AMAZING!

Thank you guys for putting up with my "idiosyncrasies"(hope I'm using the right word:)

Want to add for all you 370z owners-370's are faster than 350's! Saw it with my own eyes:)

Maybe you all knew that, but till Jason showed up, there was no proof of it. Even Ray who hardly has any mods, put down a 12.899. 370 seems to have 20+ hp more, bit lighter, & as Jason pointed out, & both guys proved it, the shorter 370 wheel base is better for traction.(for obvious reasons). As far as my mods, I have 3:90 gears, flywheel, test pipes, tune, m/t radials/m&h slicks. STOCK intake, STOCK T.P. back exhaust. I've been doing consistent 12.7's & 12.8's. Had a chance to get a great et time on Friday(don't ask:) I'm going to have some fun this Wed. at W. Palm Drags. I don't think they prep the track on Wed. only Fridays & weekends. Anyway, my last day drag racing in Florida.:(

No thanks, I don't want to see the video:) I don't remember missing any second gears, or shifting into 5th. from second. None of this ever happened:)

tyler20c 02-25-2011 10:41 AM

Went to the track last night and I only got two runs in. First run I lowered my tire pressure and finally cut a 2.0 60 foot but for some reason I ran a 13.5 (which is what I always run) at 102.1 MPH. I cant seem to figure out why my MPH was so low. I normally run 2.1 60 foots and run 13.5 at about 105. Any ideas?

tranceformer 02-25-2011 11:03 AM

^ it could be the weather? Is your Z a 7AT or 6MT?

tyler20c 02-25-2011 11:11 AM

Weather was decent, like 65 degrees and not too much humidity. It's a 6mt with Intakes and exhaust.

Maybe the car was having an off day? I've seen as high as 3mph from different days at the track with no changes to my car. How is your shifting?
