12.721 @110.05 On the stock fuel map. 4th to 5th gear change is slow. not sure why it cost me big times.
there is more in the car, mounting the skinney's tonight weight saving is 15lb's per tire and ordered the racing brake front rotors (8 lbs per rotor.
Total savings will be 46 lb.s off the front of the car.
New weight will be 3374 with me in the car.
rear racing brake rotor's would save 5 lbs each (10)
3364
have a 20lb seat for the drivers side , but have to figure out how to mount seatbelt clip to car.
it would then be 3344lb's. net car = 3139 lb's
76 lb should bring it down to 12.63
goig to pu my Cobb back on the car with agressive fuel map.

Remember to pull the brake light fuse so you can do a burnout!

It easy now to pull the brake fuse.
The hard part is remebering to put it back in.
Wont be a problem soon as i will have line lock on shortly.
"it will do burnouts " like John Force .

tranceformer 04-14-2011 09:41 AM

I skipped the line lock and just installed a switch for the brake light fuse. I should probably check my rear brake pads one of these days.

Hey Ryan are you going tonight?

drag racing today

Very good chance I'll be at Cecil drags M.D. today. The weather looks beautiful. It's 180 mile drive, one way. Atco N.J.-Raceway Park & Island N.J-Lebanon N.Y. & West Palm FL. I've had the pleasure of racing at these fine tracks. It's time I tried Cecil, just once(180 miles:). Any chance of seeing some Z's? It's grudge racing night. Your chance to beat me:)
Check out all my mods, or lack of them:)

Z eliminator 04-15-2011 07:36 AM

If i only lived closer to you guys.
we would have a great time at the track
The "z ' car is getting more work done on and will not be on the track for 3 weeks.
"big times are coming soon:
But i will never catch Jnaut. he is the king of the 1/4 mile.

98intrigue 04-15-2011 10:15 AM

I need to stop going to the drag strip. It's just disappointing...

Street tires: I've ran a 13.2 @ 108mph with a 2.1 60'
Last night with drag radials: 13.2 @ 105mph with a 1.9 60'

I didn't do a big smoky burnout with the DRs just because I want to save the tread for when I really need it in the next few months. With just a quick spin of the tires to clean them off, they still hooked well...but what really makes me mad is how bad my mph was. I was running consistent 107mph traps with a few 108mph traps previous to past night. Last night, they were consistently 105mph with a few 106mph traps. So my goal of 12s NA: failed! :(

tyler20c 04-15-2011 10:27 AM

I couldn't break 12's either. I ran a 13.1 at 109 with a 2.1 60 foot. Couldn't seem to get off the line as well as last time. Next time around were gonna change the shot to a 75 and that will definitely do the trick.

My friend has our run on video. I'll have to see if he can send it to me. It was nice meeting you. We WILL break out of the 13s soon enough.

It was nice to meet you too man. Im positive we will both get in the 12's soon too. Let me know next time your going and hopefully we can both get a run in the 12's against each other. Oh and my girlfriend got our run on video too ill upload it in a few.

tyler20c 04-15-2011 11:19 AM

YouTube - 370 vs 370

There's the run. 13.1 and 13.2

b1adesofcha0s 04-15-2011 11:21 AM

Good luck getting into the 12's guys! From my experience it has a lot to do with track prep. My first run, the track prep was awesome so I was able to hit 12's. I don't know what happened after that, but I was not able to hook up as well as I did that first time. The 60' time really helped though.

KaienZ34 04-15-2011 11:35 AM

Good times. You guys will get there, me too hopfully. The one time i went i ran of 13.082@106.39 60' of 2.030 -- 13.107@106.54 60' of 2.053 -- 13.185@105.10 60' of 2.062

Tour/Sport full interior 7AT, intake, hfc's, cbe, sways, 20inch wheels, on 3/4 tank of 93

Yeah...think I should swap the OEM one back on??? I should have tested that last night. I totally didn't think about that! I'm not sure Whig one to use for boost either?

5700lucas 04-15-2011 02:31 PM

how is your 1/8 mile time 7.4**** ???? Thanks

I do yes, some will say no but I havent seen a single thing to prove to me that the md manifold is superior in any way

tranceformer 04-15-2011 07:39 PM

Tough luck on the low 13's, Ryan & Tyler. Just do what I did, keep on going back until you're satisfied with your times. :icon17:

Are either of you powershifting?

Ryan, you should take off that MD plenum... and sell it to me for a discount. ;)

jnaut 04-15-2011 08:23 PM

Ryan Ryan, get over here. We need to work on your shifting :) If you look down at the pedals , you will see a skinny one on the right. Dont let off of it ...just shift 12.XXX is in your near future!!

But seriously, do you adjust your tire pressure?pull the brake fuse ?

Actually in a few weeks i will be done with a tt install on a customers car, he has asked me to take it to the track and see what i can do with it. Maybe you could plan a crossing of the state, i could get another hand full of z"s to come out also. To make it a good night.

:roflpuke2:

Tire pressure was at 20psi. I didn't pull the brake fuse, as I wanted to save as much tread as possible for boost. So I didnt do a big burnout. I didn't powers off either...I have and didn't notice a difference. I shift pretty quick. With only 343whp in my G35, I managed a 12.2.

I need to talk to you about my tune. Maybe we can work something out to where I can come down, have it tuned, and go to the track:stirthepot:

ryan , give me a call and ill get it set up to get your car on the rollers then off to the track. As for your g35 running 12.2 yes because it actually makes tq as our cars dont.

On 8lbs, I dynoed last January in 32 degrees and the car only made 343whp/349wtq. I hope my Z makes more torque than that with the turbo!

But I'll give you a ring when I get a better idea of when the car will be finished. My options are Z Fever in Tampa, S&R Performance in Tampa who tuned my car already NA, or HP Logic. I'm pretty set on HP Logic, as I know they've tuned a few FI 370s so far.

Yes ryan, hplogic tunes all of my customers cars . I have had zero issues, I do recommend them.

Hello all!! New to the forums. Took my 2011 Base m6 Z to Texas Motorplex last night. Couldn't hook for crap in 1st or on the 1-2 shift. There was zero track prep and no slick car to lay down fresh rubber. All in all, she did better than I expected. This is Bone Stock, no mods with only 800 miles. Car # 050 is me.

What can i do to limit the damn wheel hop??? Its horrible...

1
60 - 2.119
330 - 5.842
1/8 - 8.844
mph - 82.61
1000 - 11.407
1/4 - 13.574
mph - 104.54

2
60- 2.288
330 - 5.975
1/8 - 8.957
mph - 83.11
1000 - 11.508
1/4 - 13.666
mph - 105.11

I will add your time to the unofficial ranking later today.

glad to more drag racing :)
