ZCON 2011 Track Day video

I've never been successful with my goPro, so I bought a suction cup mount for my iphone3GS at best buy, and it came out ok. a little distorted on the sound above 100mph though.

Track is Grand Prize of America, a track that is on actual public roads, and was used in the late 80s for Indy Lights. The Ferarri club used it in June, and ZCON used it, but I don't think other than that its really ever used.

I think it was one of the most fun tracks I've ever done, almost all of the corners were banked. Just one really rough straightaway that you had to stay in the middle for to get the best ride, but it was still bumpy.

Its run counter clockwise, which was also a bonus because there weren't many right hand turns. I didn't get a fuel issue until the last lap before the checkered, coming onto the main straight most session.

Nice video. Yeah, that straight has been hacked up several times by construction and the golf course. I love going out there for a spirited lap or two on the weekends. You can really plead ignorance as there are no posted speed limits

there is a parking lot for part of the golf course in the middle, and a dirt road where there is some construction, but other than that, no.

/\ nice vids Mike. i think I caught a glimpse of you passing our car (Juno driving). She called tonight and said she had fun (her first track day in the Z, previous 7 track days were in our GTR).

Mike, not bad video. Thanks for sharing it. I was sweating over at Fort Jackson with the cruise group. Any idea what temps at the track were?

Yep, she and I hung out most of the day.

Jon, I don't know what the temps were but it was hot! 3 run groups and I had two students, so I wound up doing 5 back to back sessions before lunch and 5 after, it was grueling.

I was talking with Dustin and he said folks with 34 row oil coolers were seeing temps in the 270 range. Sorry I missed catching you at the event but glad to see your Z out there tearing it up!

yeah, Russell was seeing 280 with the 34 row. I saw 280 with my 24 row.
