Did you post a time slip. I would love to see it ,increadable run 11.2's with ET's for sure.
you many loose some trap speed with a quicker ET.
I hope you get into the 10's

No doubt... with a 2.1 60ft and all! Hell my brothers 650awhp S4 only ran 128mph after the same 60ft... But hes bad, his car is capable of 140+ traps :icon17:

Thanks for posting. Do you know if its a stage 1 or 2 GTM TT kit?

Going for my first non-stock day at the drag strip this Friday. Hoping to get into the low 13's with my new exhaust. As long as it's better than my stock 13.5 from a few weeks ago I'll be happy.

Some questions for you. How do you guys adjust tire pressure at the track? I know how to decrease, but how do you add air pressure? Portable air compressor or something? Also, what pressures should I run when I'm there. I'll probably end up stopping at a gas station near the track to make the adjustment.

It's trial & error, see what works and doesn't work. Just keep lowering until you see a consistent improvement. Putting air back in isn't always an option, depends on the track if they have an air compressor or not.

FYI, 25 psi seems to be the sweetspot for my Z. You lose a little mph when you drop the rear tire pressure but get better traction (and hopefully a better ET). It sometimes helps to pump up the air pressure in the front tires to help weight transfer. Just practice, see what whats and doesn't, that's what makes it fun.

Ok I'll see what I can do. Going a bit earlier this time so I can get some more runs in. I'll see what I can do with normal tire pressures first and then start lowering if needed. So with the better traction of lower tire pressure, should I be launching at a slightly higher rpm? At normal pressured the sweet spot seems to be around 1500 rpm for the 7AT.

Launch as hard as you can. I think the stock torque converter locks up at 1500 RPM? Can anyone confirm? If that's true, then that is the max RPM you can launch at.

No that's not the max, but I'm not sure what the max is exactly. Usually if I launch at higher than 1500, I get wheelspin at launch and my 60 ft times are crap. I guess since lowering the pressure will increase traction, I should be able to launch a bit higher.

so you still going to the track tonight blades?

b1adesofcha0s 07-15-2011 12:48 AM

Nope. Forgot about a wedding I have to go to tonight. I thought it was Saturday night, but I was wrong. Have other weddings to go to next Friday and Saturday nights. So now, I'm aiming for two weeks from tonight.

Tried my new trans. & it works perfect:) Going to Atco!

There should be massive crowds there this weekend. I'm sure 100 Hondas will be there. Will I be the only 350Z? It would be nice to have company, but when you're the only 350z, there's always a friendly crowd, checking you out/wishing you luck. The class I'll enter(no other choice available) is 11.5 & higher. That class should have by far the most cars. Why didn't they put a 13.0 & up class as well? Working trans. a big plus. Because of the number of cars in my class, I'll have to risk cutting the lights in every race. My attitude going in is NOT, (from forum wars) "representing with class". I'm going there to win!!!! I'm sorry, not being cocky. It's just that here, in 370z.com, many guys race & want to do better. At 350z.com, most prefer dyno racing...... Sorry, but that's how I think & talk....

I'm itching to get back there. But my oil cooler doesn't seem to Be functioning correctly , I need to figure it out. Car gets hot and stays hot. Pretty mch like I dont even have a cooler. And that will just be annoying at the track having to wait even longer.

You had your car tuned by Adam? He tuned my car. With your H.P. you should be in the low 12s. Wait till cool weather. I'll go with you. If you can catch & pass me in cool weather, you should be under 12.5.......

Here's a quick way to check if oil is flowing through the core:

Switch your display to view the outside temperature. If you did not relocate the sensor it should be somewhat behind the oil cooler, and it ends up reading higher temps than ambient. The size of the core will determine how much higher the temp sensor will read more than the [correct] ambient temperature.

Adam originally tuned my car but he left and drew retuned it. I agree with you on low 12s! And cant wait to get there again. Would be awesome if you were there too. I'll pm u soon.

All this track talk is depressing

andre12031948 07-16-2011 06:10 PM

just came back from Atco

What a hot, crowded, mess. Temp. at track must have been 130+. Bottom of my sneakers were melting. Over 300 cars entered(most were bracket 3-mine) jet cars, & tons of people. They changed their mind about elimination. Decided on practice runs only. I got only one at 1pm. When bracket racing in hot summer time, I take it easy on the car. Just want consisted times. For me 12.8s or 12.9s are perfect dial in times. My run was 12.92 @ 107.3 perfect. The new trans. was amazing. It feels so great not using 2 hand to shift into second:). Tomorrow they expect thosands of people. I don't want to go back. Heat, changing tires, waiting on line to get in, hours of traffic coming home, & competing against apx. 150? cars. I got to be crazy to go back to Atco tomorrow:eek::confused::crying::shakes head:

SharpByCoop 07-17-2011 08:35 AM

I've learned, if you want to race, then you have to go on the crowded days and get minimal passes.

If you want time passes only, then tues/fri at Atco, and fri at Island (both tracks in NJ run T&T eve events) will net you MANY more passes.

Good for you to go. :)

Which since I don't have one yet, I can feel a difference from my fast 13sec run, vs one day when I could not get below 14sec for some reason??? And they let us do continue runs when the track is not busy and I just could not get another 13 out of it?

Went to the track on Friday, but only got to do runs when it was really hot. Didn't get a chance to do any when it got dark and cooled down. Best I could do was a 13.4 @ 105 mph with a DA of about 2700. I did do better than 2 Camaro SS's that were there, but never got a chance to run directly against them.

chuckd05 08-01-2011 02:15 PM

I can't wait for cold weather. I went 12.9@108.9 with a 2900 da in 97 degrees. This all translates to me running 12-4-5. Can't wait.

This morning I embarrassed a sl550. Omw to gym he was revving at me. I ignored. Continued to punch it and wait for me. I told him unless ur car says amg on the back it stands no chance at a light we caught. Off light I went slow so did he than he punched it. So I did too Hit it for 3 seconds and I was 2-3 lengths ahead of him by top 2nd going about 60-70. He threw on his wtf face and gave me thumbs up. This car is quick.

i have not been on here alot was this the gtm stage 1 or the turbo car?

When you get your 60 ft times down into the 1.83 you will go easy 11.6's or lower.

Yup. It's at TheShop right now awaiting a boost controller glitch to be fixed, and then we have the Cobb Accessport installed to tune to my new exhaust (ARK Grip) by John Visconti (V-Flash).

A tenth of a second buffer would be sweet before the tracks close. :)

Thank you! I was surprised when I saw the slip... I was hoping for 120-122... The power this car is making is starting to scare me.. I don't want to brake anything.. I might have to turn the boost back down.

Thanks, I don't really know how much power I'm making right now.. I dynoed 450 at 6psi . Right now its boosting between 9-10psi. I got lucky and picked a good night to go. they got some big drag war thing going on this weekend and the track was very nicely preped. Just wish I got another run or 2. It was packed, the track has been closed for a little over a month now with rain and big drag events so I guess everyone was itching to run before winter. Oh and stage 1 TT kit
