Another warning: if you have a sport model, be ready for SRM to shut off when you go 110+ mph (on a track of course ;))

My car is base model, no SRM here. I loved the idea at first, but when I test drove I kept finding myself turning it off to H/T myself. Figured I would replace everything else and hey look only thing left on my list is brakes haha :icon17:

typical excuse from someone that couldn't afford the sport or nismo am I right? :rofl2:

They just posted on their web page "track will not open to to bad weather forecasts "
may be next weekend ?

It looks like good weather for this weekend and the drag strip will finally open.
Going there this sat.

12.502 , best trap 114.47.
With the new up rev set up on my car i had every problem that you could think of today.
Car bogged off the line, car stalled at 2700 rpm on the line. 60 ft time 1.86 was my best (1.80 last year ). the gear change with the GTM tranny was great but the car would change gears accelerate and then a slight bog and go like hell and do this in the first 4 gears. 8.23 1/8 the mile times went from 7.32.
I changed the fuel cure 10 times ( copied the cobb one and put in on the uprev/
then the car started to run good.
actaully got it to hit 90.2 mph at the 1/8 mile.. the trouble is in the first 500 ft.
had lots of top end power in the 114 mph traps.
my car ran well compared to other guys i raced.

Being a pioneer has NEVER been easy. When it all works well, it only LOOKS easy.

From your familiar-to-me description of the shift--then bog, I'd go after that silly rev limit and put the numbers WAY out of range. Don't assume it's not affected.

You will persevere. I'm glad for your trials.

I'm going through a BIG change to 4.08's and, like you, I am anticipating it to be quicker, however: Reality is a bitch.

Steve, are your trap speeds with your SC? Care to share your list of mods. Trying to figure out how are you trapping so high compared to everyone else.

I'm sure the track and weather has some to do with it.

114mph N/A is fast:driving:

KaienZ34 04-28-2013 08:05 PM

His still NA as far as I know.

Z eliminator 04-28-2013 08:36 PM

Its N/A.
im just so upset with the uprev,
it just sucks when your car bogs at 2200 on the line.
With the Cobb i would launch at 3200 rpm with no issues
( and yes the brake fuse was pulled).
between the bogs and the throttle missing on the gear changes I would have posted some unbelievable times.

Now the SC installation starts in 2 weeks.
May go the track one more time.

Bad tune maybe?

114 N/A is awesome... What are were track conditions? (DA/Temp/Humidity/elevation). If you don't want to share your mods publicly, you can pm me. Just trying to get the best out of my car also.

I've been using the launch map on uprev and although I'm manual. Launching is fine. I wish I could cut 1.8 regularly. But our launch pad is hard to be consistent on since its not prepared nor is the entire track.

good stuff. what setup are you going with?

you might want to wait a little bit, break in the clutch and get some seat time. it took some time to adjust with my new clutch, engagement was totally different from stock. my 2cents.

What is "PSS"?

And what kind of tires were you running? street? drag radials? et streets? slicks?

PS- I brought my 370Z to ZDAYZ when it only had 3k miles on it LOL, scared sh*tless of wrecking my 2 month old car LOL.

Huck 06-12-2013 12:03 AM

Lol sorry, PSS's were my tires. Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Freaking love them. My Ventus V12's went bald after 5 months and 5700 miles of normal driving to work as home. These new tires can't break loose lol. I'll never get anything else again.

I only read a little. Stock is stock, I get that. Does weight reduction count as stock? So bone stock car but the trunk gutted. Or is that to much modding to pull a spare and stuff?

No one?

m4a1mustang 06-21-2013 06:28 AM

I would say that's modded, or at least stock but deserving of an asterisk with a full explanation of what was removed.

synolimit 06-21-2013 08:24 AM

I can't believe for one second every car on the board didn't take out the space tire.

And going to the track with 1/4 tank of gas is modding then because that's a 70lbs difference between if someone went with a full tank.

sadly i never even thought to take out my spare lol then again i dont even mess with my tire pressures. also always with a full tank

i drive to the track, race, and go home, then DD my car :tiphat:

I think going to the track on low fuel is just common sense. Spare tire... some leave it, some don't.

But if we start gutting the car...

Sh0velMan 06-21-2013 09:20 AM

Going to the strip with more than a quarter tank is retarded. There, I said it. (Unless you're boosted and go through a gallon or more per pass, in which case you need to be sure you can get fuel @ the strip, bring a can or bring a half tank or whatever.)

I really hope people removed their spare tires and stuff for their runs... kinda silly not to.

Huck 06-21-2013 09:28 AM

Lol there's a possibility I may have made all those mistakes. I had my Zenclosure in the back with a big 12" sub, probably more than half a tank, full tire pressure, and the spare tire still in there... Like I said it was my first time and it was really spur of the moment. A friend texted me and was like dude lets go to the track, I'm like ok when, he responds with "in five minutes". I'll go again sometime and rectify that problem.

most tracks are far from me so i usually fill up before i head out to them. i rather not run out of gas in the middle of bum fuck ohio. them farm boys are lonely :ugh2:

Z eliminator 06-23-2013 03:18 PM

Well after 4 years and 2 months of running the 370z down the 1/4 mile , yesterday at mustang grudge match racing the day the Z's oil pressure light came on as i motored down the track.
I came 3 rd. in the finals there was a nitro mustang, and a 2013 GTR. i finally got my dream race with the GTR but the car was hurt. I lined up a hoped that he would brake out or jump. I shut her down and drove home but the car gave up and i use the " t " word. Out came the tow hook and she got loaded on the flat bed tow truck.
it will not start and the VVEL codes are showing.
Never got to beat J naunts times 12.29 to my 12.32.
A sad day today but now its time to put the built moter in with the stage 3 GTM Sc.
i did get to race a 2013 gtr in test and tune and he beat me by 6 car lengths.

Well so far about 60lbs have been removed. The coolant tb hoses, spare tire, and the foam stuff in the trunk, floor mats, misc. brackets like the child car seat thing etc. like I said a 3/4 tank weighs more than that.

synolimit 07-12-2013 11:11 PM

Anyone help with this? Went to the track tonight. Could only manage 2.2 60ft which I expected going to a 300 utqg rating from the factory 140 tires. It was definitely hard to launch and not peel out!

What I don't understand is with a 60ft of 2.2 and a trap of 106, almost 107 why my times were so slow. Comparing my trap and 60ft with others I should have been a lot faster.

Car only has a true dual CBE, rpf1's and HTR Z3's which are a lot lighter than stock and I weighed in at only 3125lbs which is down from 3361lbs with a full tank of gas and stock everything. 2013 sport 6mt.

Again the trap and 60ft are there, just not the 1/4 mile time.

Temp got down go 73, 66 humidity, 30.10 DA, elevation 903ft.

Any thoughts or what I'm missing here?

And your times were what? Trap times are definitely there. 60ft could use a drop but with no spin and a hard launch, you should be high 12's with that trap speed. Main factor is possibly how you were shifting. Any wheels spin from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd?

14.00 best I could do! I tried several ways to not spin off the line. I think the tires are to hard. And they didn't spin a lot all the time but definitely spinning. Shifting at redline, dropping only down to high 5's, 6000rpm. They were fast and smooth. I've been doing this awhile haha. Not every time but I did get some chirps in 1-2 and once or twice 2-3. My 1/8 was around 80mph so comparing that to others I'm picking up more speed than they are on the back half. For example I saw a guy run 82mph but only trapped 103 but ran a 13.5.

If it means anything my track is ****. It no different than running on a bumpy street. However my 99si managed 13.8 all motor, wrx bone stock 13.3 at 101.

Mr&Mrs 07-14-2013 10:30 AM

I ran a 13.37 with a 2.0 60', and a 13.34 with a 1.9 60'. I do not have the slips anymore but the videos look like 103 trap on the 13.37, and 108 on the 13.34. BTW that was not with the boosted Z.
