Not an expert here, but I used aim solo and a friend explained it to me, if you want to get more accurate data analysis, record throttle and brake position sensor, to see where you are wasting time waiting for the throttle or even where your brakes looks like it is early, but the graph shows you are very smooth with good braking and acceleration with minimum time wasted, no to minimum constant speed.

You need the following mapped by track position for relative lap analysis:
1. Steering angle
2. Brake pressure
3. Throttle %-age
4. Speed

I have both RacePak and Motec (2 different cars) and whilst I started my data journey with Haltech ECU and RacePak logger dash in my old race car, I found Motec in my Z34 to be more complex to set up but in the end it should be easier to use as I don;t have the overheads of setting up track maps and I have access to a lot of target lap time data from other cars to measure myself against.

There are phone app's you can use as well but these will rely on OBDII and bluetooth and can be laggy and you are at the mercy of what the ECU is seeing.

Thanks guys. I have an Aim Solo DL connected to ECU, which gives me throttle position, but unfortunately not brake pressure. I致e been watching YouTube videos and will hopefully get better as deciphering the data. It痴 a journey.

I can tell you're carrying good speed through the corners and not too much over braking. I can definitely see your aero limiting your straight speeds. Only thing I can surmise is you can pick up time with a bit of trail braking, but it's hard to see if you are without video.

I havent been able to get Steering or Brake pressure. But as a fill in I use Lat and Long force. Not great but its better then nothing.

Thanks. Interesting point about the aero. I値l tone the wing down a bit and see if I can pick up some speed on the straights. Getting some understeer too, so flattening the wing may help there too. I知 back out this weekend at Sebring with hope of shaving off some time.

Forgot steering angle, and this is a video, we used solo dl on my 370z, we got many inputs, but couldn't get steering angle.

The data are put on the video through aim cam, and you get a file for their software to analyse

How did you get brake position?

The most obvious thing I can point out is that looking at that graph for one lap isn't terribly useful.

You'll gain more insight into your driving by comparing at least two different laps using the Race Studio Analysis software. Once the plots are overlaid you can start to make some deductions about what you as a driver are doing behind the wheel and start to answer questions like, could I brake later here, or carry a higher minimum speed through that corner there...etc.

The Aim Solo DL connects to your OBD port and has the ability to record a variety of data channels from your ECU like, RPM, Speed, Brake Input, Throttle position, coolant temp, oil pressure.

Good point. Need a reference point. I have all my laps. I値l overlay them to see what stands out. Thank you!

Sorry I don't know, my friend was the one who made the setup.
