Things I've noticed: I'm braking too early, trail braking too late, causing me to lose speed coming out of the turns (mainly because I'm worred of spinning out due to lack of grip on my crappy tires). I've also noticed I don't go wide enough on some turns and turn in a little too early on others.

A buddy of mine who competes in time attack reviewed the footage also mentioned that my shifts need to be smoother so I'm not chirping each gear lol
Is that gear lever smiling

I think you need to stay in third gear most of the time, it will help you get on the throttle early and smoothly. Try to go for late apexes, I think it is faster with our cars, it will allow you to get on the throttle earlier, maybe a little slower mid turn, but much higher exit speed.

Familiarity to the track is something that makes you fast in any car. Driving in one circuit only for more than three years, made me getting to 80% or more of any car performance easily within few laps. BUT you reach a point where you get bored with the track, I want to try other tracks so badly to test my skills, but cannot.

Just finished a great weekend with The Drivers Edge in Cresson TX at MSR Cresson. Moved from the blue run group into blue solos and was told that I should be able to get a check ride next event into yellow!!

Had some great video, including an decent off road excursion, but sadly i stored it on the wrong portion of my phone so it can't be exported??? oh well.

Also learned that i badly need brake cooling ducts!

This was my fastest lap from me at Thunderhill yesterday. They said it was the 5 mile layout but harry's lap timer had it listed as 4.8miles. Couldn't get the telemetry to be 100% synced with video, but I'll figure it out in due time. First track event with my Z (had raced Lemons in an old 93 300zx on this track) and had a blast. Was only in A group(novice) , but got the OK to go B group (intermediate) next time out, the only one close to me in A group was a C7 Z06, and it wasn't even that close.

I love this layout of T-hill, it's almost like 2 separate tracks because you have the faster east side and the more technical, tighter west side of the track. If anybody has any tips/advice, I'm all ears. Was able to drop from 3:40 to 3:38 just having the instructor with me on 1 session, and then was on pace for a 3:35 before I experienced some bad fuel starvation at 3/4 tank (forgot to refuel prior to session) and then got down to that 3:32.03 in my last session. I definitely know there's more time to be gained for sure with more seat time.

I still haven't done T-Hill 5 mile. Just the East course (3 mile?). Still great fun, and still the only track I've been on where I've spun my car.

I'm the exact same. Even on day 2 of a weekend event my last sessions are faster. I would think the first runs on day 2 would be your best but for me they aren't.
