60 here. Went from doing track days with a Honda RC 51 to a Nismo. Figured if I crashed the bike with a hip replacement. I would be in a world of hurt. A car would protect me better and still feed me my need for speed.

47 and Track at least 10 days a year. The z is wee a bit heavy (but very fun and fast), so I am building a dedicated race car (FFR 65 coupe)

Started in the under 25 bracket

Got my dad into it around the same time. He's coming up on 60 and still doing 2 hour endurance stints.

41 here, just started HPDEs and have been autocrossing this season. I love the Z on the track, but I might build my C4 Corvette as a dedicated track car to keep the Z in good shape for a long time.

Link to your 65 build please I built an English wheel and have several 3'x4' aluminum sheets in the garage from a failed try at making an aluminum body of a 65 coupe (body metal shaping is harder than it looks) FactoryFive is on my bucket list once I finish the sailboat in my garage

About 5000 miles around Sebring in the 350 from 40th bday to 50th bday when got the 370; going for longevity for the 370 so no track abuse.

Forza it is then....

61 here and I track as much as I can. I have a coworker that is in his 40's (with TT 350Z) and we have a blast racing together.

You're never too old...

Another fellow hip replacee!. 22 here

I should probably calm down on mine, but it can take some punishment. I get a bit reckless so I opted for the plastic instead of ceramic

When I got mine in 2003. I had 4 options. Ti on Ti, 2 different plastics, and the ceramic. Was told that the ceramic would not take a big impact. With the Ti on Ti. They didn't know what happening to the Ti particles as it wears. Do they sit there around the joint, or move through out the body. The old style plastic is good for 10~15 years before replacement. And the new style plastic, which should be good for 15+ years. Depending on how rough you are on it. The new style plastic just came out when I got my hip replaced. So I went with the new style plastic. I was number 89 to get it, and to under go a new surgical procedure. I got a 4" cut in the front, and a 2" cut in the rear. Was in the hospital for 3 days, and back to work in 5 weeks.

Very nice! How is it holding up after 13 years?

I was told mine would last ~20 years. I got the new anterior approach, with just one 5" cut in the front. As it was explained to me, this new approach eliminates the problem that the posterior approach had, of easy dislocation of the hip from behind when bending past 90 deg. My aunt had a hip replaced in the early 2000's and couldn't bend past 90 degrees after surgery at all for a few weeks! Had a weird pillow to sit on and all.

I was in the hospital for 2 days, with no "waiting" to exercise full range of motion. It was the best decision I ever made, should have did it sooner. As soon as my other one starts to hurt (I have AVN) I am going to get surgery immediately, thats my clutch leg! lol

This thread is starting to sound like conversation at the old folks home!

That said I'm 56 and will pop my cherry next Saturday at Wildhorse Race Track in the Phoenix area. No hip or knee replacements, just a titanium pin in my left shoulder and arthritis in my knees and feet.

It's still like new. I'm in a study group for the procedure I went through. So I get an x-ray/check up once a year. The last set of x-rays show no wear, or bone separation. I have no restrictions on the things I can do. BUT I only want to do the surgery once. And not have to go though a revision surgery. So I watch on what I do. No high impact stuff like running, picking fights in bars, no bull riding, jumping out of perfectly good airplanes, stepping off of motorcycles at 120 mph, etc.

Sound like it is the old geaser HPDE thread. I am staying out of here. I'm still a young buck.

I Just ordered the coupe. I could show pictures of the shop I'm building in the back yard to house it though! The foundation is being poured next week!

I expect the coupe kit to show up January
