Hubby and I might be at the main race on Saturday. Is anyone down for dinner with Zoren on Thursday or Friday night?
|
Depending on the time I could be available. Would just need to wake up early. 7 to 7:30 is best for my sleep schedule.
|
Bump, who else is in for this Sunday's Cars & Coffee:)?
I've got our Austin370Z business cards in if anyone would like some to keep & give away, I'll try to remember to bring these Quote:

If you can't attend the Nissan Car Corral this year, please consider attending the Cupcake Meet 24 held at COTA on Halloween. You will get 2 parade laps with a passenger, speed limit 80mph, parking in vendor area, and helping a charity for $60!!! That is a steal for two laps at COTA.
All details on CCM 24 can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/531892400296596/ |

Hey everyone! I'm moving to Austin next week, relocating from Orlando Fl and having to leave my big group of Central Florida Z Club friends. I will be completely new to the area but have heard great things about Austin and I hope to meet you guys and make new friends as well as learn all the good shops in town as I immediately have some fenders I need to get on :) I hope to meet some great people to fill the shoes of the Z friends I'm leaving in FL. If anyone can give me some ideas of the events in town my number is 352-598-0109- Zach

Capital Z of Texas club meets once a month and organizes some cruises and car shows every now and then. It's mostly older gents with older model Zs. Centex VQ is around but it's comprised of mainly G35s, G37s, and 350Zs. Maybe a few 370Zs by now. They are a crowd of say....20-40 yr olds maybe? Host some bbqs, maybe a tech day every now and then but usually just doing cars and coffee and the occasional cruise. There is a new VQ of Austin club. Not sure about this one or if Centex VQ merged with them. You'll want the Z Clinic in North Austin saved in your phone book as well as Soul Speed in South Austin if you are lowered. |

Why poor thing, I've heard great things about Austin? Do you all usually post here in the forum of things that are happening or is there a Facebook page for Austin370's? The central florida club did everything through FB and we were always getting together. I noticed when I was in Austin a few weeks ago that there were not many modified and lowered cars. I hope mine will be ok out there as I am fairly low. Sorry this pic is so large lol

The scene is actually pretty quiet in town other than the groups that Tracie mentioned. She tried many times to coordinate meets and/or dinner on this forum with limited success. She eventually just gave up. There is no Austin FB page.
I have a garage, some tools, and a bit of knowledge working on the Z. I am happy to help with basic maintenance or troubleshooting as able :tiphat: |

Cupcake Meet 24: Parade Lap | |
Oh wow! Well I would definitely be interested in helping to organize events and even create and run as admin a FB page. I was close with Matt DiPalo the admin for the CFZC and helped with a lot of the events. I understand it may be a quiet scene in Austin but would be nice to at least get some people together for fun events.....outside of the car world :) We actually do Thursday Z meets where we go play pool, dinner, bowling..... and more, so just would be nice to establish something fun like that out in Austin.

I personally won't lower my car as long as it is a DD, and I've seen some pretty rough driveways and turns around the area that would not be condusive to having a lowered car. Just keep it careful and you should be alright. |

I grew up there. Lived on the backside of the Lakeway Country Club driving range. Of course there wasn't anything out there in the mid 80's |
Honestly, just listen for the really loud black Z that you don't want to drive behind with open vents and that is likely me. Still <3 your headers Pint. :D
Jar, shoot me a text or something. I think my phone may be doing wonky things. |
Well I am down to meet up with anyone whenever and help out with any installs or anything like that just text me 352-598-0109 Zach!

Well looks like you all will have another z owner in town. Getting shipped down for work in a few months. Look forward to meeting everyone once the z and i find housing. More concerned about the car though. Ha ha

I'll throw some wheels and an axle back "exhaust" on the 6 and see how happy that makes me feel. (It won't....) |

Instead of modding the 6, save every dime and put yourself one step closer to another z. But... I'm one to talk... I'm all for instant gratification. I got the z when I couldn't afford a GTR. Lol Now I'll never afford one... Mod after mod after mod. Lol |

I haven't thrown on my oil cooler yet so I am assuming that is a must have for summer? Thanks! |
Depends on how you drive the car. Tires should be fine for street driving. Just be careful if performance tires haven't warmed up. I had some issues with RE-11s but the other tires I've used have been fine. I expect S-04s will not present any problems.
I don't have an oil cooler. I hit 220-240F temps on the gauge daily for years now. I get a little timing pulled in the summer now and again, but no limp mode or anything. Not having an oil cooler just keeps me from beating on it for any length of time. If I sat in bumper to bumper traffic more often or took it out for autox or track, the oil cooler would be a must. It will likely be my next major mod. |
I agree with the oil cooler mod. I myself have a 25 row z1 oil cooler with the Serab core and at most this summer I seen 200°F. 75mph cruising while 100 outside was about 180-190F. It works wonders.
|
Yeah def wasn't in a hurry to get a cooler being in Illinois.
Looks like i found a home for my z temporarily at Petrol lounge on the north side. Will be shipping it down just in case they needed some jdm action with their exotic owning clients. |
This was the last regular Cars and Coffee and Austin370Z event for me as I'm in a new and different season with life (good changes:). Kate and I had a fun time today, peek pictures on my Twitter @r3ptile!
I've enjoyed the many years meeting Z people especially Zaggeron who helped launch Austin370Z. Love and respect for all my Z people. Take the good test, because I care for y'all & want only the best for my Z fam'- NeedGod.com Auston Quote:

Well if I had known that, I'd have made it out! Good luck with the next chapter, sir!
