When I went down there I just looked for a bunch of Z's lol

Zaggeron 08-04-2012 05:58 PM

Got the BRZ. I'll take that to C & C this month instead of the Z. Here's a crappy cell phone photo. I'll do a proper shoot tomorrow.

Great seeing everyone and meeting you new guys! As discussed at lunch, we need to plan our next function.

Option 1: K1 Speed go karts K1 Speed Indoor Go Kart Racing – Fourteen Centers Nationwide

Option 2: If we can get enough people together, we can do a group class at Driveway Austin. Driveway Austin Motorsports Academy and Retreat

Option 3: Lunch + Drive down Lime Creek and maybe 1431.

I'm free any weekend, let me know when you guys are ready.

Great pic Chris! You know you and the BRZ stole all the thunder today. You should have taken it out for our little joy ride.

Thanks for posting Pintsize725. I'm interested in Option 2, how much $ are classes without the discount?

Looks like $395 for the first level. I'll call tomorrow to see how many we need and if a discount is offered.

I'm interested in any of those. I am planning on doing the Driveway course in the BRZ once the break-in period is over. After you have taken their course, you can use the track during open sessions for $25 for a 20 minute session. Without a discount their L1 course is around $400

MJB 08-05-2012 08:59 PM

Wow, what a bunch of really awesome people! I had a lot of fun today guys, thank you all very much! Can't wait to do it again.

Zaggeron 08-05-2012 09:38 PM

Was great meeting you MJB. I think we set an Austin C & C record for the most Nismos at one meet

For those interested in Driveway Austin, here's the answer I got. Still waiting to hear back about what is needed as far as the car inspection goes.

Hi Tracy, Our L1 - Foundations of Road Racing Course is considered full at 8 but we can extend to 10 for a group. If you can bring a group of at least 8, we will extend a 10% discount to the group. Let me know when you would like to schedule and I'll look into make an exclusive day for you.

Thanks,

Bill Dollahite President Driveway Austin Motorsports Academy

I guess $40 is nothing to sneeze at. I wonder if there are any "incidental" charges -- taxes, facility fees, insurance surcharges, helmet rentals , etc. :)

JARblue 08-07-2012 08:50 AM

Looks like another good meet! Sorry I missed you guys :(

The course at Driveway would be a great group event, but I don't think I'll have the time or money any time soon. I'm out of town for the next couple of weekends and then football season starts.

Pintsize725 08-08-2012 09:21 AM

As much fun as Driveway Austin sounds, I won't be able to afford it anytime soon. If anyone wants to get together, just let me know when and where.

I need to have 1k miles on the BRZ anyway before tracking it. At the rate I drive, that will be at least 6 weeks.

Pintsize725 08-10-2012 03:26 PM

Alright Austin guys, who wants to help install my springs? I can pay you if the rate isn't too high. If you know of a shop with decent rates, let me know.

Some of us SA area 370s and GTRs went for a small cruise yesterday. I mentioned we should coordinate something with the Austin folks along the lines of a Twisted Sister canyon run in Sept/Oct when the temps start to cool down. I'm just trying to plant the seed right now.. let's see how many austin 370s and GTRs we can commit to a run out to Leakey. I will see what I can do in the SA threads.

I'm up for this. I don't know of any Austin GTRs on the forum here, but we have several local 370zs that hang out semi-regularly (clearly not as much as Pint would like ;) )

Pintsize725 08-12-2012 10:45 AM

Sounds fun but good luck getting Austin to do anything.

Thats why I'm counting on you guys to rally up the troops up there. Im thinking possibly a labor day weekend run with everyone meeting at Buc'ees in NB. I will try and see if the SA GTR guys can get in touch with the ones in Austin. I will also advertise this with the local Z clubs if we want to include other model Zs and infinity's. Im thinking this could be a smaller scale nismo fiesta type run.

San Antonio is pretty much the same way :icon14:

When we discussed the idea at the meet, everyone seemed to like it. It would be nice to meet the Austin group and have a safe, fun drive. I'd like to do the run when it cools down a little, but that's asking a lot being here in south TX...

I think the two GTR guys knew some of the Austin owners, so hopefully they can pass the word along.

Can you provide a Google map of the possible run?

We're also advertising the run on the GTR forums.
