I'm for AC Milan because Inter's away jerseys are fake diamonds away from being an Ed Hardy kit.

Worst fkn shirt ever.

If it didn't have the stupid "serpent," it'd look great.

I'm with you on hating Ibra, but he did win two titles with Juve before the Calciopoli Scandal had their titles stripped & the team sent to Serie B.

I loved Juve back in the Zidane days & will always root for them, but don't particularly care anymore. Krasic is their only player who looks lively. Del Piero's has no legs anymore & is basically at that age where he'll either retire or go to MLS.

phelan 03-22-2011 10:23 AM

Italian matches used to be amazing, but since they cut out almost anything that closely resembles hooliganism the stadiums are never full, and it's kind of...meh.

cow - you can't be serious, that's inter's away jersey???? no wonder i've never seen them play in them. ew.

ah, the MLS - aka europe's top flight pasture :rofl2:

Yep. They're AWFUL!! I saw it two or three weeks ago & was like, "Oh neat, sweet white strip.... Wait... Is that a fcuking dragon?!?!!!"

In other news, this non-story annoys the crap out of me that it's being talked about. Sczeszsyihasisahisojfoisajfony's comments are being taken out of context when they were very much in jest.

I'm indifferent on it. It really just looks like the current kit with a fancier crest. I *wish* there were a way to minimize the sponsor across the gut & make the emphasis on the badge, but I know that'll never happen.

I'd kind of like to see a redcurrant kit again, but I think it's too soon after the 2006 kit to reuse the color as a home strip.

Big news from the Bundesliga:

Quote:

Jupp Heynckes will become coach of FC Bayern München for the third time this summer, with the Bayer 04 (Never)kusen boss having agreed to replace Louis van Gaal when he leaves at the season's close.

The 65-year-old Heynckes will sign a two-year contract after talks with Bayern board members and sporting director Christian Nerlinger. The head of the Bayern board, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, said: "Jupp Heynckes was our number one candidate. I am convinced we will have a successful relationship with him."

Bringing Stefan Keißling with him? Keißling paired with Müller up front for Bayern would epic.

cow 03-25-2011 04:23 PM

Man, Bayern gets whomever they want in the Bundesliga.

Red370 03-25-2011 04:36 PM

France look sharp today, Gourcuff once again, reaffirming why he needs to be in an Arsenal shirt. I have a gut feeling that Fab is out this summer, we'll fetch 40 mil plus for him, and in doing so, I say we snatch Yoann and Samba. Once they're signed, extend Zidane Jr's contract another 5 years and up his salary another 50k.

Red370 03-25-2011 04:39 PM

Czech up on Spain... c'mon Czechs. Spains possession fvcking lulls me to sleep.

blue660r01 03-25-2011 04:39 PM

I like Gomez up front for meow hes having a great season.

wat? i thought they were rather lackadaisical until mexes put in that goal. mexes also played some arsenal-esque defense. that is...

ole!

gourcuff would be a good buy. samba? ehhhh....not sold on that one. even though he did look a bit feisty this past weekend. looked almost like a striker on his goal, and nearly put in a brace!

am i the only one who wants to see montolivo in an arsenal shirt? must be because i like fiorentina for no apparent reason other than "OMFG ITS SO PURPLE *swoon*"

dammit czech 1-2 spain. and back to the netherlands game - afellay is really going to be a star for barcelona. smart AND pacy? oh my.

cow 03-25-2011 07:16 PM

I doubt Arsenal would get Gourcuff-- Lyon paid 22m€ (does the euro symbol go before or after the number?) last summer. Arsene rarely drops that kind of coin.

I do, however, wonder if we could sign Adil Rami & M'Vila (Liverpool are said to be very interested).

On France, I wasn't too impressed. They looked so good against England & Brazil-- I was hoping for that kind of performance. Still, I'm glad they were able to break down a team with 11 men behind the ball.

blue660r01 03-25-2011 07:31 PM

I believe its before

phelan 03-26-2011 01:56 AM

Arsene won't strengthen the offensive midfield. If anything, I hope he's learned he needs a DM like another Alex Song to cope for when the Cameroonian goes down with an injury.

That, and a centre-back. All the naysayers who want a goalkeeper can f*ck off. Szczesny is the man.

So excited for Wales / England!

cow 03-26-2011 07:51 AM

I won't get to watch any matches today, unfortunately.

I am excited about USA vs Argentina. Blue, are you going? Weather's supposed to be in the 30s. Should be interesting.

phelan 03-26-2011 11:22 AM

wales is playing awful. morrison has had their best chance, a compleely wide open chance and he sucffs it worse than bendtner ever could.

OOOOOOOH, ramsey got a nice shot in just now though. rambo looks pretty good in the second half! just had some pretty bad jitters in the first.

blue660r01 03-26-2011 11:42 AM

Fuk Messi

blue660r01 03-26-2011 11:43 AM

For International games I've been to 2. England vs Ecuador and USA vs Mexico. Waiting for Germany to come over here.

Red370 03-26-2011 11:55 AM

Jacky had a good game today, held the ball up well, was comfortable in possession, his final ball almost put Bent through on multiple occasions, overall, not a bad day at the office for him.

Ramsey was out of sorts in the first half. Second half, he seemed to come to life, possessed well, passes were more accurate and even got a good shot off. He'll continue to improve the more matches he gets.

Good win today for England.

Red370 03-26-2011 06:57 PM

never thought i'd say it but the US defense is worse than Arsenals. Do we really have no better options than Bocanegra, Demerit, Onyewu and Spector? of ALL the Americans playing here in the states and abroad?

phelan 03-27-2011 12:58 AM

^ uhm...yah? haha. defensively, we suck :ugh2:

the midfield is horrible. dempsey and donovan, the remaining big guns for the USA squad, can't do sh*t if they don't get service from the midfielders. bradley was completely out of sorts, edu looks like he's theo walcott from a year ago - useless, but runs around a lot.

in other news - i really, really like the new kit. thinking im gonna order one soon.

Red370 03-27-2011 07:22 AM

Agudelo was the only bright spot last night. If Davies gets back to form, Jozy needs to be dropped to the bench, he was dreadful.

Was Edu even on the pitch? The starting lineup said so but I didnt see him for 90 minutes.

Bob, its about time you see your son for what he really is, a mediocre and underpaced defensive midfielder.

Why did Spector get the start exactly? The kid looked like he was running in slow motion for the entire first half.

Defense in general, lacks any kind of speed, I seen Bornstein on the bench, he would have been a better option than Bocanegras old ass. Chandler was the only bright spot, Lichaj would have even been welcome. We need more depth at CB, while I love Gooch in the air, agility and stamina are his downfalls and it showed last night when Messi was carving him up left and right. And while i'm not a huge fan of Demerit, he saved our asses on more than one occasion last night with some last second tackles.

Dempsey held the ball up OK, but still looks like a sloth jogging up and down the pitch.

Lando tried to show some attacking intent but had no space to work with much of the match.

Overall, we need help. Bob Bradley made wise substitutions at the half, but we ended up playing the same way we always do against big sides, bunker down in defense and hope to score on the counter or a set piece. We need to play attacking football. A midfield with Landon in the center, Torres on the left, Jones on the right (he had an off night, usually much better), with Agudelo at left wing, Davies on the right with possibly Buddle or that Canadian kid as the striker (Jozy isnt cutting it anymore), we have the players for it, so why not experiment while we have these friendlies gearing up for the gold cup?

Red370 03-27-2011 07:28 AM

BTW, I find it HIGHLARIOUS that the USA authentic kit costs more than Arsenals :rofl2:

Red370 03-27-2011 07:46 AM

So what do yall think, Fab is gone this summer, I have no doubt about that. Who will AW splash the cash on?

I think if and when he goes, AW may end up pushing Jacky into the attacking mid position.

Gourcuff, Hazard (although hes technically a winger, Nasri might get pushed to attacking central mid, freeing up his slot on the wing), Montolivo, Sahin, Ayew, Muller....

As much as Cesc will bring in, we'll be able to afford pretty much anyone (anyone not on the Barca squad at least), could probably even bring in a solid CB and GK with that money as well. I honestly think Samba or Cahill would be a great fit for us.

blue660r01 03-27-2011 05:46 PM

Guys relax on the USA midfield. It's their first game back together in almost a year IIRC.

Side note. Wow England and Italy are RACIST.

Neymar racism incident mars Brazil win - ESPN Soccernet

cow 03-27-2011 09:47 PM

Sad. Confusing, though, since he doesn't look black?

I guess if youre a bigot, all brown people look the same.

phelan 03-28-2011 01:41 AM

Of course Italy is racist. Look at what Eto'o has to deal with.
