I love the fail whale.

lol look at the top of the page where it quotes the first post. the whale is all distorted
wow..... all that in less than one hour... lol.....
Good result for the USA with the England draw.
England was atrocious tonight. I'd lol a lot if they didn't get out the group. |
They wont lol
Now the US really needs to beat Algeria. I mean, it's still possible to get through with a tie, but they gotta come out firing next match. Hopefully some momentum from today's game will carry over.
Must ... kill ... Koman Coulibaly

Won't somebody stop him? Hey, look, it's Enrico Palazzo!!! *please excuse my corny humor...* |
that was quite possibly the worst i've ever seen an english side play.
yes..england does suck..except for their keeper...he's the best!!.hahah
^ David James wasn't so bad tonight

USA advances with:
(a) Win versus Algeria on Wednesday (b) Tie and Slovenia-England tie IF England does not outscore USA by 2+ goals (c) Tie and England loss Slovenia advances with: (a) Win or tie versus England (b) Loss AND USA tie vs Algeria (c) Loss and Algeria win as long as Algeria doesn't make up tiebreakers* England advances with: (a) Win versus Slovenia (b) Tie AND USA-Algeria tie AND outscore USA by 3 goals Algeria advances with: (a) Win versus USA AND Slovenia win/tie versus England (b) Win versus USA AND Slovenia loss versus England AND makes up tiebreakers on Slovenia Note: If the U.S. draws with Algeria and England draws with Slovenia, and England scores exactly two more goals than the U.S., the U.S. and England would be even on all tiebreakers for second place. The tie would be broken by drawing lots ... aka, a coin flip. * Tiebreaker order: (1) Goal differential in all group matches (Algeria is -1, Slovenia is +1); (2) greatest number of goals scored (Slovenia has 3 goals, Algeria none); (3) greatest number of points obtained in group matches between the teams concerned; (4) goal differential resulting from group matches between the teams concerned; (5) greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams concerned. (Only way both USA and England advance is if both win.) source |

wow that was not a pretty game between japan and holland, but sneijder with another good strike, goalie could have done better, but plenty of pace on that one.
ashamed that afellay (sp?) and huntelaar couldn't do better, esp. ibrahim who had two wonderful chances and couldn't put it in the net. |

Can anyone explain how Kewell gets a red card when the ball hits his hand in the box unintentionally, yet Vidic vs Germany dove at the ball and hit it with his hand only getting a yellow?

Vidic didn't stop the ball from going in the net.

Just saw the replay. Still kinda find it bs since the ball was hit directly at him. its not like he intentionally did it.
I hear what you're saying, but, for what it's worth, if I were refereeing the match, I'd have made the same call.

Again, I would've given the card.

Tough call
I've seen it called both ways (Germany vs USA 2002, for example).
Yep! What you think of Anelka getting the boot?
Eh, it doesn't matter. I've never particularly liked Anelka, but I can't stand Domenech, so I kind of like that Anelka got in the Clown's face.
Domenech absolutely ran that team into the ground.
He tried in 2006, too (if you'll remember, they weren't doing well before the tournament until Zidane, Makelele, etc rejoined the team), but Zidane, et al were strong enough forces of personality to push Domenech to the side & say something to the effect of, "Shut up, idiot-- we're running things around here."
Zidane ftw! I miss seeing that dude play.
Ditto. We're coming up on International Fuck Marco Materazzi Day.
