See when you grow up in argentina... you learn a few things:

1) brazil can lick my left testicle

2) its called Malvinas not Falkland

3) Diego Armando is the best player EVER.

plus.... did you see the game... brazil was running 5 defense at all times... I expect that from N. korea but not a "5" champion. LAME.

It doesnt matter. As a soccer fan you still have to respect a team even if you hate them. Brazil are very very good so saying they get easy teams, refs suck, etc is kind of sad. Brazil is set up more defensively since Dunga took over....it happens and props to them for thinking like that. If you cant score on a team you cant beat them.

S korea>Arg
Greece>Nig

blue660r01 06-16-2010 08:05 PM

G37Sam 06-16-2010 08:13 PM

Agreed. I am not a fan of Brazil. I respect some of their players and I am very disappointed Ronaldinho isnt in the squad. But I learned to put the 2002 final behind me and look forward to what is going on now.

G37Sam 06-17-2010 06:33 AM

Y'all should come to Dubai and watch world cup at night in a bar rather than at 7 in the morning lol

molamann 06-17-2010 06:53 AM

What's with all that trash on the field in KOR vs ARG?

tonybui 06-17-2010 07:24 AM

lol @ Argentina's simple mistake. Over confident with 2 goals

G37Sam 06-17-2010 08:23 AM

Respect to Argentine to be honest, even though it was pretty tight at first

Still waiting on replays to see if the 3rd goal was an offside

I'll check when I get home whether I do-- found some round trip flights for less than $400.

wishihadnav 06-17-2010 09:10 AM

Wow Arg looks great!..so many weapons..

G37Sam 06-17-2010 09:22 AM

3rd goal is indeed an offside

Chupacabra 06-17-2010 10:56 AM

well this was another shocker...

I thought Nigeria would take Greece....

definitely not the same teams as in the first game...

Greece was playing well... nigeria looked confused.

Next up France v Mexico?

blue660r01 06-17-2010 10:59 AM

France will win that one

Argentine trick... fill the field with papers, and it confuses the opposite teams because it makes it hard to see the ball.... very common in the internal games:

One game between River Plate and Boca Juniors... in La Bombonera... Boca's stadium..... there was so many damn papers.... the game was stopped the the Bosteros (boca) actually came out with leaf blowers to clean the field.

wishihadnav 06-17-2010 11:01 AM

^^trickery!!...if you aint cheatin...your not trying!..haha

cow 06-17-2010 11:15 AM

Obviously, I want France to win, but I'm not hugely optimistic.

A friend was asking me about different teams yesterday & I broke it down in terms of Call of Duty:
Italy = COD campers
Portugal = glitchers
Suisse = guy who somehow goes 3-1 in a deathmatch
France = clan that is great at deathmatch with their individual skill, but suck at team-based objectives

Yeah, I play on Thursday, so no go anyway.

I'd pop up for a match if I had time, but alas.

Jon@AAMComp 06-17-2010 11:36 AM

^ THIS

I don't care what anyone says, I feel sorry for the guy. I wanted the US to win for sure, but I admit, I felt for Rob Green.

I thought Joe Hart was going to get the start anyway. To me he's a way better keeper. More clean sheets at Birmingham than West Ham I think?

Oh, and I think France and Mexico will end in a draw. Both teams really have to win, but I think each team will score once and the points will be shared.

G37Sam 06-17-2010 03:14 PM

The french players cannot play together for some reason, send everyone back to his club

Is Domenech to blame?

cow 06-17-2010 03:48 PM

Domenech is largely to blame-- a good coach is able to galvanize his players. Also, leaving out Nasri was a questionable move.

Today was awful-- he fielded four or five left-sided players. Gourcuff didn't have a good first match, but at least he plays through the middle.

2006's relative success was IN SPITE of Domenech, not because of him.
