If you have a Pioneer AVIC HU, you don't need one. Not sure if others have a software bypass or not - may be worth looking into, if you have another type of HU.

Well, if I put the Scosche exactly in the center, then it is ok with a fair amount of space around the faceplate of the HU. If it is offset, then you can see through to the other side of the bezel....

Man, that is big enough to fit around the outside Pioneer dimension in height, almost in width! Maybe that is what the folks were doing that were using the factory bezel - pushing the whole radio...

What if you just got some better quality...

What if you just got some better quality replacement speakers instead of component style? Surely, this would give you much better sound and you wouldn't have to worry about it not working properly....
