Question Pioneer HU Bezel/Dash kit issue

Purchased a Pioneer AVIC-6000NEX with PAC SWI-RC adapter for the steering wheel controls. Also, have both Metra kits for the wiring 70-7552 and 70-7553. The forum here seems to indicate the 70-7553 is what I need, since the car has the no-nav bose set up. I read a bunch of conflicting information on the dash kits between Scosche and Metra, so both were ordered. They both seem like the fit and finish are not anything close to factory. After nearly going blind researching this forum, I do not see a way to address the gap issues on either kit other than felt. This brings me to my question: Is there a kit that actually fits properly and looks factory? The pioneer HU has the standard outer dimensions of 100mm by 178mm. The part that needs to be met by the bezel in the Pioneer HU is 96mm by 170mm. The dimensions of the Scosche kit opening are 99mm by 173mm. If you use the flimsy add on bezel from Metra, it is approximately the same size as the Scosche. Wouldn't think that 3-4mm would look that bad for an evenly spaced gap, but it sure does. Would be willing to pay for something that had a better finish, and fit properly. Been looking on the forum for a WHILE now and not seeing anything other than the felt idea. May do that, but the finish of these kits is not very good either. Guess they could be painted, but why spend the money if there is still a gap to address, lol. Any other products out there? Anyone have the dimensions of the factory bezel opening for the double din non-bose models? Thx.

This has been covered in other threads. But to answer your question quickly, buy the scosche if you do not want a gap.

Nothing out there that I'm aware of. If it bothers you that much, its time to get creative with it....

In short, have the Scosche - see a gap. Quality of both Metra and Scosche are just not there. Thanks for the reply, though. I do appreciate it.

Ok, was hoping there was something else. It's a shame that you pay money for a product that just leaves you thinking "Why did you even bother making this?"

Anyone ever try Best Kits? Just did a search on the forum which said "no results".

Found Nissan part number for double din non-bose system bezel to be: 682621EK1A.
Have not been successful finding the dimensions of the opening yet.

Well, haven't found the dimensions for the factory bezel yet. Have seen enough posts that say it looks great with aftermarket HU's and using a couple 1/8" spacers. Guess I will bite the bullet for factory bezel (non-bose). Audio store told me Nissan has a deal with Clarion for the double din HU's that are made for them. Hopefully, that means the opening is a standard size. Haven't seen any for reasonable cost, though.

The ddin non Bose bezel measures 177.79 x 101.6. Verified this by digging up my original

Man, that is big enough to fit around the outside Pioneer dimension in height, almost in width! Maybe that is what the folks were doing that were using the factory bezel - pushing the whole radio through the opening (using the spacers mentioned). Thank you for digging up that information.

I'm using the Scosche kit with my AVH-4000NEX and I do not perceive any unnecessary gap. I mean, sure there is a very small open edge all the way around...but without that some face-plates would not be able to tilt. I certainly don't think either kit is "great" but having bought both the Scosche is definitely much better.

Well, if I put the Scosche exactly in the center, then it is ok with a fair amount of space around the faceplate of the HU. If it is offset, then you can see through to the other side of the bezel. That by itself is not that big of a deal and maybe I just got a particularly bad one. I can see irregular blotchy coloring in the finish and hairline cracks in multiple places. The shape of the Scosche is definitely better IMO then the Metra I have. Considering ordering another Scosche, maybe from a different supplier. The factory double din is just a ridiculous amount of money! Thanks for the pic, btw. Yours, looks great and I would be happy with that.

Might be a good idea to swap out yours, the coloration on mine seems very good overall and there are no cracks. The only real issue I had was two of the rear screw holes were not threaded at all on mine, easy fixes for each and got everything setup nicely.

The only other thing I can say is to try a different head unit. To say the quality isn't there I would have to disagree. Keep in mind these dash kit manufactures have to play nice with so many different kinds and styles of head units. Simply put your not going to get perfection with every combo.
