There's plenty of ignition-switched 12V sources...

There's plenty of ignition-switched 12V sources in the dash area once you start digging around. Steal power from the +12V side of the wiring to one of the cigarette lighters for example.

There's a pressure relief, yes. Don't ask me if it's possible to still get significantly higher effective pressure by redlining a cold engine. Maybe you can completely overwhelm whatever the bypass...

Well I ordered all 1/8 NPT stuff, we'll see how things look in person when I try to put this together during an oil change in a week and a half or so, assuming everything arrives on time.

Good info, thanks :). I always warm up anyways, but frequently I'm already on the road rolling slow by the time the oil hits 140, and at 160 I'll drive "normal", but not hard WOT stuff till 180+.
