This one is not digital -- shot with Canon FTB with a 24 mm on Ektachrome Infrared slide film. I like it anyway.

Much better, onzedge:tup: I like the first shot.

Did anyone notice the tilt-shift effect at the end of Sam Posey's intro to F1 qualifying?

m4a1mustang 05-26-2012 07:59 PM

Go easy on me.

I am not very good at detailed critique, but I do know, instantly, if I like a shot or not. These look pretty darn good. Nice exposure, good composition =

LunaZ 05-26-2012 08:15 PM

Interesting how the building ended up looking curved...

m4a1mustang 05-26-2012 08:17 PM

It's the 18-135 kit lens at 18mm.

m4a1mustang 05-26-2012 08:21 PM

I am on my laptop with only a touchpad. Corrected it in CS5 as best I could.

There you go!

m4a1mustang 05-26-2012 08:23 PM

I'll pay a little more attention to that next time. Thanks ;)

I took this at Zdayz. The Fontana Dam Power Substation. I was on top of the Dam using the 18-135 lens that came with my 60D.

onzedge 05-26-2012 08:28 PM

^^^Excellent.

m4a1mustang 05-26-2012 08:28 PM

That's cool. I've never seen it at night before.

wilsonp 05-26-2012 11:07 PM

LR or DPP will correct the lens, if it was JPEG I'm surprised the 60D didn't fix it for you.

m4a1mustang 05-27-2012 05:49 AM

Yeah I was shooting in JPEG. I did correct it in CS5.

m4a1mustang 05-27-2012 06:19 AM

I posted this picture previously but made some adjustments so I am posting again.

m4a1mustang 05-27-2012 06:27 AM

Also made another tweak to the S2000 shot which looks a little better, imo. Let me know what you think...

I don't know why, but Picasa is killing me on quality. They used to let me post higher quality images.

Alchemy 05-27-2012 07:41 AM

Steve, try the GIMP software until you decide on what you want to purchase. Its free and you can do a lot of stuff in it. The photo editing program is called Gimp and they also have a drawing program called Inkscape. Pretty damn good for free.

Cmike2780 05-27-2012 07:41 AM

Looks good. The car just gets a bit lost against the red brick, but overall nice shot.

I have CS5. I was just saying Picasa doesn't let me link high quality images like it used to. I can host them and people can download the original size, but if I link the image and scale it they degrade quality a bit.

Not free, but smugmug has unlimited photo uploads and the photo's look a lot better. I think the least expensive is around $5 a month/$40 a year($3 a month).

m4a1mustang 05-27-2012 11:32 AM

Thanks for the recommendation. I started a free trial... looks good.

m4a1mustang 05-27-2012 11:38 AM

Much nicer quality!

wilsonp 05-27-2012 08:55 PM

Sorry, I though Canpn had added more correction in the newer models, but I see it just corrects for vignette.

LR/ACR does have correction for the 18-135 available.

I like the scene, but it looks a bit blurry. Not sure if the focus was off or what. Might have tried a vertical shot as well for more contrast of the fog

I like this one. But the yellow is distracting. You could try a mask and either adjust the white balance on the bridge, or bring down the exposure, or both and see how that looks. WB is tricky on shots like this with multiple light sources

Thanks for the advice. I like your post also and have no real comment other than it is a nice shot and well-balanced.
