I don't care about anything but the V8s in these cars.
![]() Oh, had a chance to check them both out back to back yesterday. I didn't drive them, but I can say at least in terms of seating position I prefer the Camaro. It's lower and more sports car-like. There are more hard plastics in the Camaro, though, but they tend to be in out of reach spaces. I actually prefer it's interior to the C7. :embarassed: ![]()

Agreed on all points Yeah in practice I'd only buy a v8. But also loving tech as a whole. Impressed with great turbo engines. I think 2.0T in GM is a great engine.
The corvette idash s looking dated already compared to the Camaro dash.

Another thing about both the Camaro and Mustang... in person they don't look anything like how they do in photographs. Both look better in the flesh.
Camaro is starting to tug at my heartstrings a little, too. ![]() The one I looked at yesterday was Hyper Blue. ![]() I like that kind of blue, as evidenced by our 335. ![]()

I still think the C7 is a nice place to be, but there is a lot going on there. The Camaro is just simple, comfortable, and feels just as nice as the C7 (except in the areas where it uses hard plastics.) GM's choice of leather (probably synthetic) that they use on the door trim, dash insert, and arm rest is very nice and feels high end. The 8" screen with the downward tilt looks fantastic too, with virtually zero glare.
Also, the "blade spoiler" is now an option on the Camaro configurator. I believe this is it... I like this A LOT better than the wing!

The only negative to the Camaro is that if you like to look up at things or put your arm out the window, you can't really do it. The door sills are super high and the roof is very low. The Z has better visibility, for sure. But it's not *too* bad.

Yeah, wrapping the entire dash and the full door like they do in the C7 would easily add another grand to the base price.
In reality, though, it's no big deal. You literally have to reach up over the dash to feel any hard plastic, and if you've sat in the new Camaro you'll know you really have to put in an effort to reach up over the dash. ![]()

I think what amazed me the most was that setting it to "Tour" mode basically turned it into a Cadillac with great handling.

If it makes you feel any better, I don't think I'm going to be buying one. At least not right now. My wife wants an X5, so I think I'm going to trade the Z and drive our 335i for a while. I want to see what happens with the ZL1/Z28 and GT350.
Then again, if she said "lets get a Camaro today" I'd run back to the dealership and put my order in. ![]() She is not a Camaro fan, though. Just the other day she was saying things like: "Camaros are shameful" and "What do you do when someone asks what kind of car you drive? Admit you have a Camaro?" ![]()
