Sorry if this has been answered, but whats the curb weight for the GT?
|
Quote:
An important thing to note with the weight is that while losing 200 lbs, it's also replacing the 115+lbs of unsprung rear axle with a new rear suspension. |
Am hearing the IRS is coming from the engineers behind the Fusion model. Took that IRS as the start and then worked from it into the Mustang.
|
It is using an integral link rear suspension (likely a high-performance evolution from the AWD versions of the CD platform.)
2015 Ford Mustang Rear Suspension Photo 10 And they redesigned the front. No longer a lower control "A" arm. They are using the dual control link like on a lot of the higher-end MacPherson strut equipped cars... M3, 911, etc. http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co.../photo_11.html |
So Its gonna handle twice as good as the 14. Eppiiiic

This thing should turn out to be quite a bargain for what you get. Will definitely have to go test drive one for sh!ts and giggles

That's a bit of a stretch. Accord Coupe and C250 Coupe look alike... Mustang? No.
Also, I owe you stickers. |
Nothing irritates me more than people who say ______car looks like "X" car. It happens every time something new comes out. There's only so many ways to bend sheet metal and only so many designs. Design elements can have resemblances and cues, but it's far from plagiarized concepts. It's like a bunch of 4 year olds comparing oranges and apples. Sometimes you just gotta give up and tell them, yes...they're both apples.
My point is, you'll find similarities if that's what you want to see. http://www.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-...-370z-side.jpg http://britaxconvertiblecarseatrevie...w-afgyehkg.jpg http://www.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-...coupe-side.jpg http://image.automobilemag.com/f/aut...Coupe-side.jpg http://image.automotive.com/f/auto-s...ncept-side.jpg http://strumors.automobilemag.com/fi...-side-view.jpg |

There are many more similarities between the Mustang and Accord profiles posted above. The long front/rear overhangs. The long rear quarter window. The flat rear end. The curvy roof line. The slim headlights that wrap around to the side. |
I am curious to see how this new eco-boost model will pan out. I'll bet the majority of the Mustangs Ford sells will continue to be the v6 and the gear heads will most likely opt for the 5.0. I can't forsee there being too much of a price difference between the 3.7 and the 5.0
|
First impression much better than current design. Especially the roofline and side windows. Rear looks a bit weird. Front looks pretty good. Dont like the vertical bits (fangs?) on the front. And interior looks stupid but thats no surprise
|
The v6 is the cheapest. Economy boost is like...800 more or something. 5.0 is 1700 more or some **** I saw a while ago

And you are exactly right if you ignore the wrap around tails, QPR trim, FB profile, and OA profile |
I was on the fence until my brother sent me a photo of the GT
Then I clicked on this thread and found this photo http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/a77a...tang-13-HR.jpg :yum: I like it wayyyyy better in GT trim |

Nevertheless here are the color examples they had at the reveal. Competition Orange is after Triple Yellow. http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/atta...1&d=1386363099 My favorite, I think, is Guard. I want to see it on the actual car. http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/atta...6&d=1386344721 |
I like guard. Think it will look great with the car's lines.
|
The Mustang doesn't come In orange now does it? Who uses that orange?
What is guard? A gun metal with a dark green tint? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk |
The Boss is available in Competition Orange.
And yeah, Guard is a medium/dark gray with a lot of green tint/flake. |

I never said they were exactly the same, but they're more similar than having 4 wheels and two doors. |
