2015 Mustang

Leaked images of the 2015 Mustang. What do you guys think?
I think it's....uh.....um.....well, see for yourself: http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1386102530 http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...8&d=1386102529 http://www.the370z.com/attachments/o...ang-leak-1.jpg |
For now, until we see full pictures and different models (I believe this is just the base model), I will say I like certain things on it.
Overall they progressed it nicely but like all new models there is some love/hate in that design. |
Threw up in my mouth.
Hated this body style when it first came out, thought it was kind of getting better, but clearly it's not. Just like the Camaro, Charger, Challenger, and Corvette - they may have the performance, but they're all as ugly as sin and I hope they all burn with their creators. |
I like it so far. Apparently that's the base trim. Interested in actually seeing one in the flesh.
Pretty excited about the 200lb weight reduction, too. 3,400 lbs is a lot better than 3,600. I think the effective weight reduction over the current model will actually work out to more than 200lbs since they're cutting out a bunch of unsprung weight. Love/Hate is the best way to describe it. I think that's a good thing and that's what most designers aim for. It's like the Z... you either love the styling or you hate it. That's usually what makes for a good design. |
Here is a screencap that was pulled from the Autoweek youtube channel showing the base model:
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/atta...6&d=1386095148 Looks really nice for a base, IMO. |
Wonder if they are going away from the center fog lights finally.
|
I've been waiting to see how this would turn out. My first impression is that it's not as good as I hoped, but not that bad. I like it a lot better than the current model though.
|
I like the back end, would look mean with some nice wide tires on it. Side looks decent but the front end looks too Taurusey.
|
I don't hate it, but nothing about it makes me want go out and get one. The weight reduction is great to hear, but it's still no lightweight. The design looks confusing. It wants to be a sports car but ends up looking like a "sporty" coupe. Ford didn't go far enough in either direction and we end up with a muscle car wearing yoga pants. It needs to be more Ford GT and less Ford Fusion.
|
Well the Mustang is a "pony" car which mixes sports car with muscly coupe. If it went too far one way or the other it wouldn't be a Mustang IMO.
Since this is the base I'm really interested in seeing the GT. Should be more aggressive. The special editions are supposed to be really interesting... Flat plane crank, 5.5ish liter twin turbo for the gt350 variant. Carbon ceramic brakes etc. |
Come on Nissan, build us a kick *** 425 HP, 3000 lb monster Z. And no, not a gtr.:tiphat: so I don't have to buy a 2015 vette.
|
I wonder if the Ford stick shift will be made in China still.
|
So the Mustang went from retro to a Ford Taurus/Fusion coupe?

|
the front reminded me of the current MINI....
looks so plasticy. :ugh: |
|
Is it bad that I logged back in here to see more info about the new mustang?
|
Looks like the GT gets 15" brakes. Damn!
|
|
the performance should be improved. I can't wait to see the numbers. And, as mentioned, this is probably the boring v6 trim, but I'm not that impressed with it as-is. The car will be fast, and I think they'll probably keep the fog light with the GT and above, as usual.
Can't wait to see more of it |
I would rock that in a heartbeat .. Refreshed , lost some weight and just needs to be dropped with some wheels and bolt ons ... I like !!
|
Looks, dare I say, foreign?

As long as they dont fack it up as bad as Jeep did
From one of the nicest looking car to a huge POS http://image.motortrend.com/f/roadte...rters-view.jpg now http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog....p-cherokee.jpg |
I dont care for it at all. Its lost...its all over the place. Its a Taurus? No, a Fusion! A huge effin Mini?? Even the base, as this is presumed, its not aggressive enough.

Uhhh to different models. Cherokee replaces liberty not Grand Cherokee. And I have seen Cherokee in person huge upgrade from liberty it replaces. 2014 Jeep Cherokee Officially Unveiled as Liberty Replacement » AutoGuide.com News |

I like it.
It retains a brutish, muscle car look, but shows refined and sportier body lines. There are now two modern American muscle cars I don't hate -- good job, Ford. |
:ugh2:

Not sure what the point of that gif is, to be honest. The Mustang and Camaro have always shared similar styling traits over the years, and that little "hump" came about in the Mustang's 2010 refresh, which was a reference to the Mustang's styling from the beginning.

I need to see one in person and/or with more size context, but it's still just too tank-ish for my tastes. I do like the front end look (then again, I like the Aston martin front-end look), but the rest is utterly boring. I actually dislike the rear view. From some angles it reminds me of a Jaguar. It's a very safe design that isn't all that exciting at all, especially with the fleet of Fords already sporting the DNA of this look. It may grow on me, but otherwise I can just shrug, say it's a Mustang, and move on. :) |
That's why I'm looking forward to seeing the GT variant. This is the base model, so it's supposed to be somewhat safe.
|
Remember, this is the BASE model.
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/atta...3&d=1386172701 http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/atta...4&d=1386172701 I have to think a sportier GT model is going to look pretty nice. |
This is sharp... i love what they are doing with the rocker panels... how they tuck up.
Ford is going to make this hard for me... either a new performance packaged mustang... or a C7 |
