Don't they look exactly the same except for the badging and wheel size?

There are subtle changes between the base (or v6) model and the GT (V8) model. Usually the hood might be a little more aggressive, different suspension (slightly lower), front bumper changes (lights, lip, etc).

Haboob 12-27-2013 08:16 AM

I really do wish the Mustang looked better.

A Shelby got on it next to me on the freeway yesterday and I will admit (not that I have said otherwise) that they sound amazing. If only it looked as amazing as it sounds.

Pitch 12-27-2013 08:43 AM

The rumble of a v8 on the inside annoys me now. It's one of the reasons I want to get rid of it. Probably just need a better more aggressive sounding exhaust to fix that tho

Yeah, I don't know if it was OEM exhaust or not, but I don't think I could ever get used to the sound of that Shelby that took off yesterday.

Pitch 12-27-2013 08:52 AM

I prefer the sound of a v6 with a nice exhaust over a v8. But oh well!

Further Refinement

There are some nice refinements in the new Mustang, overall I like the car but I wouldn't want one. GM will have to further refine the Camaro to hold off the sales advantage Ford will have by the end of this year on the Mustang, its been outsold by the Camaro since 2010. The new Corvette is more my cup of tea.

Vertigo 01-17-2014 01:45 PM

I'm debating getting a new 2014 GT or waiting til 2015 for the new design.

Resale value is probably the biggest thing to factor in with this. Also when the 2015 hits the dealers are you gonna want to pick one up right away? You will probably be told "this is hottest car on the market right now, and we are taking 2k over sticker"

Pitch 01-17-2014 02:42 PM

I got a 14 march

I regret my decision every time I look at it compared to the 15's

I say wait for a while after the 1st launches. msrp or lower, and option it how you want

As a comcast employee, I get Ford vehicles about 3-4k below MSRP. The styling of the 2014 appeals to me more, but the 2015 is starting to grow on me. I'll have to give it some thought.

Yes, they have some kind of partnership with Ford.

Pitch 01-17-2014 04:01 PM

That's awesome! I need a part time job there for that discount! Or find someone that works for em that can hook me up! Lol

Vertigo 01-17-2014 04:26 PM

Yeah for example: a 2014 GT 6sp starts at 26900 with the discount and with the options I want (upgraded brakes, 19" wheels, leather) is 28500. Definitely a good deal for what you're getting.

NissanFan 01-17-2014 04:28 PM

wow... that is a great deal. sure beats getting that cheeze ball brz/frs

dtul 01-17-2014 05:41 PM

I never knew about that Comcast discount you guys get; that's pretty cool.

I love how the 2015 looks, but the 2014 looks fantastic as well. I really don't think you could go wrong having either one.

Which plan? X plan is easy to beat in negotiations.

I beat X-plan by something like $3500 when I bought my Mustang.

Lug 01-18-2014 12:54 AM

X plan is very very close to invoice. If the car is brand new, it will be close to as good as you will get. Once they've been out for about a year, you can beat it easily.

FuTuRe is Z 01-18-2014 04:14 AM

I absolutely love the front fascia, we'll see what it looks like in person, but man I have some sort of buyers remorse.

As far as aesthetics are concerned the Mustang looks sharp.

Pitch 01-18-2014 05:30 PM

Buyers remorse from what?
