That's what I read. However i could be completely wrong. If that is true tho then expect the base to cost around 30k

Pitch 12-06-2013 08:54 PM

Which I find hard to believe....

Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

m4a1mustang 12-06-2013 08:55 PM

It's only supposed to get a very modest price bump over the current models. Base models will be well under $30k.

Pitch 12-06-2013 08:57 PM

Aye

And they aren't selling the 5.0 for less than 30. So that price thing I said is complete bs. Idk where I read it but there might have been more to it

I don't think the vert has been posted here yet. Looks really good. Magnetic is a pretty nice color as well.

Always good when a car looks great top down and not bad (even good) top up.

Red__Zed 12-06-2013 09:36 PM

vert looks good, almost good enough to have me considering it.

Pitch 12-06-2013 09:37 PM

Yea it does look really good top down. However I hate any convertible that isn't hard top. It just looks so cheap.

Yea it's gonna be a hard choice for colors

Pretty much all I like except ruby red and deep impact blue and ingot silver

Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

m4a1mustang 12-06-2013 09:49 PM

Deep Impact Blue is no bueno. I liked the old Kona Blue, which is similar to the Z's Midnight Blue.

Pitch 12-06-2013 09:49 PM

Grabber blue I liked

Mustang has never been an option for me... until now! That GT looks good in pics and like many have said already, I'll reserve final judgement until I see it in person, test drive, and all specs are revealed. :driving:

Isamu 12-07-2013 11:57 AM

I have already begun doing tons of horrible photochops.. :yum: muahahahaha

My first Ford.....

kenchan 12-09-2013 10:06 AM

+1 on the vert look. the coupe's roof is just odd looking on the car. maybe add a upper window spoiler or something could give it a tad more square look up there to be more consistent with the rest of the angular body.

Mine too. 1968 Fastback, black with flames on the hood and fenders, and a naked lady on a mustang on the trunk. I paid $1500 for it in 1980, I wonder its value today.

Nevertheless here are the color examples they had at the reveal. Competition Orange is after Triple Yellow.

My favorite, I think, is Guard. I want to see it on the actual car.

No Grabber Blue?

m4a1mustang 12-11-2013 10:47 PM

Nope. Not for the regular models, anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if they offer it on one of the special editions, though.

Pitch 12-12-2013 12:35 AM

Hmmm

I just learned about the twin turbo 3.6l goin in the new ats...

That would win me over in a heartbeat if not more than 45k starting

I like the sound v6's make as well as turbos. Om nom nom

Damn, I must admit the 2015 is looking better all the time. Sounds promising in the driving dynamics department too. Interior, although looks much improved still is not to my liking but if all the other pieces are great it's something I could live with. The tacky steering wheel is the biggest detractor. If this thing makes 430+HP with a good drive feel and a weight reduction this could be a serious consideration although I'm hesitant of any first year of a new model.

Come on Nissan, you know you need a V8 or some kind of twin turbo 3L or you're sitting on the sidelines getting passed by minivans. Piss on all that eco crap in a sports car, well that is unless it makes big power.:driving:

Pitch 12-13-2013 07:30 PM

Does jdm make v8's? I thought only euro and america. When I think jdm I think turbod 6's I'd they want power

Just wishful thinking on the V8.

Pitch 12-13-2013 08:39 PM

Gotcha.

I'd take a turbo 6 with 350+ over a v8 anyday

It should make 430 easy. It's set up is very similar to the Boss (currently at444 hp). Knowing Ford, a Direct Injection 5.0 will be the following year (block casting is already set up for it). All the weight reduction talk has suddenly dried up so I'm less hopeful on that front.

I forsee it being less than boss numbers as not to make them upset. But waay detuned and able to do 480 or so with a tune and cai, maybe more(that's to the crank)

And yea...I might not be getting one of the first ones with all this talk of 2016 having DI. :(

And the weight loss talk is not dead. There's a 27 page discussion on that alone on mustang6g.com

Would love it if they drop significant weight but I was referring to Ford press releases specifically, not general speculation. To get to the 3200 lbs everyone is guessing at would require a LOT of expensive weight saving materials. Can it be done? ....sure. Can it be done at the price point where the 'stang sits? ...much harder proposition. You're talking Vette weight here with an additional back seat. Like I said, would love it but expect it to go more like the Z weight loss.....had a little bit but nothing like everyone was hoping for. Even my Focus weighs more than that.

Pitch 12-14-2013 01:54 AM

Vettes way 3400...

I think 3200s is going to be possible for the Ecoboost model which will undoubtedly be the lightest and better balanced of the bunch. I think the V8 will be a winner if it can close in on the better part of 3400lbs.

A lot of people are concerned about the weight savings... where could you pull weight off the S197 chassis to drop the required 200+ lbs? They are forgetting that the S550 is an entirely new chassis developed for this car. There's over a decade's gap of technology between the two platforms. The only thing in common with the S197 is the wheel base. Everything else is brand new.

Wow, you are correct. I'd heard all about weight savings in the Aluminum frame, etc. Seems it still went up anyway.

My bad, I was talking about 3200 for the GT some were touting. Still don't see how they can make that without going with a lot more expensive materials or a much smaller frame. I guess time will tell.

It's like 3290 but with the z51 and some other options it's 3440

The 2.0t/performance is $45k. I expect if caddy goes thru with the ATS-V 3.6TT? I expect it to be at least $60k.

Pitch 12-17-2013 07:37 PM

:( that's what I heard sokewhere, but I thought they said 60 k for the blown v8. Was hoping less for the tt but not 15k

I really do like the 15 stang. I had been waiting for a while and hoping they went with a more modern look. I really really like the GT version. The base version is bland. but that is the way it should be.

gsxr750 12-25-2013 05:52 PM

Finally a Mustang that actually looks goods.

It looks more like a modern version of the early 2000 mustang gt style, the old retro look can only last so long before it becomes dated.

Don't they look exactly the same except for the badging and wheel size?
